Acceleration on 2k2 Max SE 6speed

Has anyone noticed hesitation in acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gears after installing a Stillen air intake and Stillen exhaust (or any other air intake and exhaust)? At around 3000 rpm i notice hesitation and after 4000 rpm it kicks in hard! After this "hesitation" it runs through 4th,5th and 6th awesome.Any input?

What do you mean by a hesitation? Like when you step on it, it doesn't rev higher? Some people report a loss of low end power with those pop-charger intakes and an increase in high end. Maybe that's what you are experiencing.

Thats the variable intake runner switching over to the shorter runner. The swith happens at 3800 RPM's, you probably noticed it after the mods becuase you can hear the engine sound change now.

just wondering: i raced a TL/S and it won by .5 car distance due to my lack of aggression...eversince then, just wondering if it's my head or did i really lost some power because i can't rev off the second gear as fast as i thot i had been able to...or did the ecu adapted to the timing etc? any thots?

Maybe you have a air leak somewhere? Get your car dynoed if you want to make sure your car is up to snuff.

I have no idea whether my car loss low end from the Stillen intake. At high rpm it the sound is aggressive, and feels faster. I need to drive one with stock intake to determine

no matter how sensitive you butt is

you can't "feel" or "tell" accurately from driving... get dyno'ed
