Removed the resonator in the factory exhaust today

I had some twin 3" tips welded on and went ahead and had the shop
remove that giant resonator in the middle of the exhaust path. At idle the volume is no different. At WOT the car growls alittle more. The sound is completely non-intrusive and it seems like what extra you do hear is coming from the front of the car. I would recommend it for anyone and it only cost $25.

Roger that, 02MaximizedVQ. Removing the resonator is one of my favorite $25.00 mods to a 5th Gen Maxima. Now add a straight-through SS muffler like a Magnaflow or a DynoMax and you can have 90% of what guys on this forum are willing to pay upwards of $500.00 for when they purchase a catback system.

BTW, that muffler shouldn't run you much more than $125.00 to $150.00 INSTALLED.

How exactly is the resonator removed?
by cutting it out or is it just wrapped around the pipe?

Ok I'll get some pics of those muffler tips in a few days. To be
honest the tips don't look very good. I'd like to have a fully polished traditional style muffler like PowerTech or MagnaFlow. I bought those tips from N.O.P.I. and they are just alittle too long plus they aren't slash cut which I could not find in a 3" outlet.
