About the price, Think about this: The custom S/C that Extreme Motorsports built did include exhaust. That is much better that getting a Stillen S/C, HKS muffler, joe blow Y-pipe, henry's b pipe, etc, etc. Extreme's setup works together. I've always prefered it that way.

About the respect(I feel that I know because I was kinda one of them): It's the 4 banger engines that hot rodders don't respect. You know, the 1.2 or 2.0 or 1.3 liter 4 bangers(with the exception of the S2000) that make all that noise on the road and don't go nowhere. I don't respect those either. Don't get me wrong, there are some fast 4s out there but most are just making noise.

NOW, in comes the import V6. Those engines are beautiful. I would venture to say that Japanese V6s(notice I said V6 not In-line 6) are the best in the world, no question. They combine torque, hp, as well as the benefits of a high reving engine.
2K2 Maximas, TL-S, CL-S, NSX, etc
And with an addition of a S/C they can hang with the big dogs without NOS.
So far I gotten nothin' but respect Yeah I know, I've only had my car since April.

could the...

japanese inline 6 for the skyline be one of the best inline 6's? Well i guess boosting it practically makes it the very best... hence them supra and skyline motors...but wait, there are those bimmer I-6's too...

just my thoughts...

NO BRO, My dream car, the Porsche 911 GT2 is the best. I know it's a flat 6. That car is my ultimate car and I'll be willing to fight anyone who disagrees.

A Roots blower wont fit our cars. The blower sits on top of the intake manifols such as in the GTP and SVT Lightening.

why fuss about the price of a cutom s/c kit? if the stillen kit cost around $4k as a bolt on kit, what do you think those same components would have cost you before stillen put the kit together.
as stated in other posts the the whole kit was totaly custom. custom costs if was cheap and easy we would all have "custom" cars that look and drive the same.

I could go on and on about the GT2. I mean, that car does 11 seconds off the lot!
The Lingenfelter Viper, with 725 hp, does about the same.

hafta definatly agree..nothing like having a car that small..that much power..and that much technology crammed in there..from the braking system...to the boxxxer 6...to the computers running all of it..its just amazing

I have to call back this eve to talk to the guy who did it and see if he will do it again. They said it took him some time.

I will update you guys when I get specifics from the tech tonight.

All I want to know is who in the DC/Baltimore are got this done??? The guy said he thought it was a 2000, but he wasnt sure.

More to come .......
I think i know this maxima! I saw it at tweeter in towson, MD. This guy has $$ comming out of his a$$. He is paying tweeter 10g's ALONE in custom sound install only. I dont even wanna know how much his system is. The tag was from PA. I never got to talk to the guy because he dropped off the car for a while. It had a s/c sticker on the back. It was a silver 5th gen, lowered, stillen big brake kit, tint, and rims.

That's probably him. I've spoken to him via e-mail, he's cool. He'll tell you what he knows and what he has done to his car.

Sorry, I will be the one to disagree with you. I was disappointed when porsche brought a GT2 into North America. It should have been the GT3

Custom hood or a big scoop in the hood, problem solved. But the costs of a complete roots type SC with the custom hood would probubly be really expensive and not worth it.

The set up would be all wrong, FWD, so the belts would force the blower to sit sideways but intake is lined up the other way. I'm no expert but...

I thought it was the pick-up that was SC'd? Furthermore, don't they use another engine aside from the VQ?

Hmm could be. In reality Mike, the fact that the sc is VG based is not really the problem. The deal is, the VG/VE/VQs are all about the same degree V v6 designs. So at least we know that SC has a good chance a fitting down in the V6's V. Of course custom templates to match the VQs heads, custom intake design(N-S vs E-W), custom belt arrangements to accomodate the blower snout belt etc.. all need to be done. But what the hell huh?

I see where you're going. It does make a bit more sense that way given the close relationship between engines.

Hmm. How about compression?

Mike, mike, I'm only a country doctor! hehe. I don't see a problem w/ low boost for stock compression(look to the 3.0 VQ guys for reference). I would be worring about how you will be upping the fuel pressure. If you don't have a return line, U B fooked?

Speaking of which, my uncle is a country doc as well. Ever saw the "Little House on the Prairie"?

I forgot about the VQ30+SC, that's what you get when you're excited i guess.

I also forgot that even at slightly higher boost the engine should be able to take it (e.g. kevin). Then again, he's a special case.

Jeff, the pathfinders aren't supercharged, the Xterra's and Frontiers are. Unfortunatally they have different engines and neither blower would fit on the Maxima.

Take a look at this blower. Looks like the twin screw right? These are mounted in many ways and in the case of the Miata sideways on the side of the motor with a custom intake manifold. They can be used in other ways other than right above the motor like the centrifical ones are but they are larger making it harder to use.

that was the best MSPaint could do... When I'm home (on vacation now... hello, my name is kevin and I have a maxima.org problem) I'll do better in less then 15 minutes if this thread is still here.
