Moderators please help

Why are any threads having anything to do with the 350Z being locked?? I understand that this is a maxima site, but come on, the Z will be part of the family, and something to be admired. We don't close any threads having to do with the G35, etc, etc. Just curious what the problem is. Also what happened to the thread about being hard to ignore the 350z, from what I can tell it has been totally deleted, because it is no where to be found, and I received an email that there was a new post, when I clicked on the link, it said that it was invalid and to contact the webmaster. Just trying to find out what the deal is?

Re: Moderators please help

The moderators just lock or delete based on whims. There really isn't a method to the madness. Matt93SE will usually lock instead of delete, but Jeff92SE prefers to delete. Tim seems to like to warn first and hold off on deleting or locking. Don't really know about the rest of them.

My advise is to read the rules and the user agreement to stay out of trouble.

no... it's based on (you already said it)

this forum is for 5th gen Maxima. I, for one, don't want to read about 350z here unless it's about a mod they have that we can use.

And ScottG61376, did you need to start 2 threads about this? How about deleting one?

basically...

we (mods) are keepers of the database. When something off topic is posted, it bloats the database, increases load times, and leaves irrelevant info that throws off searching. Wasted bandwidth is just an added cost to max.org and detracts from maxima info. There is no shortage of Z forums. Dont take it personal, we've just been asked to keep these posts out of the search.. hence they get deleted.

That's what the "Off Topic" forum is for. Available for your use if you have donated some dollars to keep Maxima.ORG running smoothly.

i have no problem donating money to help maxima.org thrive, but off-topic just isnt fun when everyone isnt invited to join.

really tho...

its not even good for off topic.. why not go to an enthusiast site for G35/Z? Youre going to get better/more information there anyway.

Well actually yes I did, because I received no response to the other, and I wanted to know what the deal was.

There are post here everyday, almost every minute relating to some other vehicle. Can the max beat this, can that max beat that, who really cares, or what are the specs of this other Japanese car that wants to race me (just race him for Chri$t sake), or what kind of HP can they get out of a VW with the super-duper chip that turns it into a stealth bomber, why should we care about all of these other topics, and what is the difference with the 350z that we can't talk about since we freely discuss the G35 and upcoming GTR. I guess I just don't understand the discrimination that occurs between post.

There are tons of post that have been posted a 1000 times before and waste most of our time in reposting, or telling them to search. Or of course our daily over-exaggerated racing stories that are thrown about here every day.

Oh well I am beginning to ramble, sorry just had to vent for a second.

The best way to solve that problem is to reply to your own thread and "bump" it back to the top of the list. So many threads go by every hour on this board that it is sometimes easy to miss one.

yeah..

I dont really care for all those posts either. but they compare them to the maxima. If you are comparing the 350 to a maxima, it wont get deleted.

Again, its nothing personal. Truthfully, all that 'kill' stuff should be deleted from search as well.

I realize it's nothing personal, but sometimes I can't get back in time after someone has responded to me, and it gets a bit old. I will get an email saying that someone has responded, I click on the link, and then poof it is gone.

While we are on the topic how about the post that is now 2 pages long "2002 5sp GTI....fairly quick" not sure that this thread is really about the max.
