headroom, rear turn signals

I haven't seen 2004 Maxima yet... but two things I'm wondering about:

How is headroom compared to earlier models with sunroof? I had a 2003 SE rental car for a week. I can just barely fit.... too close for comfort. Looks like 2004 with Skyview roof will have plenty of headroom. Does the 2004 sunroof eat up a lot of headroom?

Are the rear turn signals red? (look that way) Why? To me orange rear turn signals are a lot safer -- much more noticeable and other drivers don't get them mixed up with brake lights. Has always been a peeve of mine with G35 sedan & coupe. Altima has nice big orange turn signals in rear, so does my current car ('92 Q45).

Anybody else bothered by red turn signals? I hate to think more 2004 models will get rear-ended because of it.

Atlanta traffic is messy with 4 or 5 lanes of traffic (in one direction) weaving in and out at 70-90 mph... not having noticeable turn signals is dangerous!!

The car we test drove had the skyview roof; loads of head room and I loved the sky view. However, the car we bought has sunroof and there is more headroom than in my current 02. And my son, who is taller and usually hits his head on the roof, has space so that is the litmus test for me. I really enjoy the sunroof (well, when they get mine fixed) but I really, really liked the skyview. But I just gotta have glass that can open; can't be w/o the fresh air and open sky in my car. Too bad there isn't a way to blend these features!!!

I honestly haven't looked a the rear turn signals. Will do an report back. Personally, I hope they are red. I don't really like the red/amber/white combo lights; too much going on. I wish I was ambitious enough to get rid of the amber in my 02.

I can't imagine Nissan wouldn't continue with this sky-roof evolution and offer one that opens up in future models...

From those of you who have seen it, do you think it can be done? (I asked this once before, but nobody really was able to sit in the car yet)

I despise orange/amber lenses anywhere on a car, although DOT requires it. I prefer red/white(clear). I don't remember orange lenses on the 6th gen, but I couldn't get my eyes off the bizarre grille anyway.

I agree. I think that having yellow turn signals, albeit a white bulb and yellow cover or a clear cover and yellow bulb, is far superior than red turn signals.

Also, has anyone else noticed that the rear window is so freaking small? The roof line really tapers off in the back and cuts down on visibility.

Sat in 6-speed SE at dealer today... generally impressed, esp. with backseat. Headroom is still a little tight with sunroof. Didn't sit in one with skyview today.... (took forever to find keys for 6-speed).

Only real grip is that volume **** on stereo is kinda small.

I'm not concerned about front headroom, but the head clearance upon entering the rear doors due to the dynamic shape of the car does concern me.
