I was considering doing it tonight, but something has come up. My next opportunity won't be for 2 more weeks. It is currently over 110F which means it will probably run a bit slower I am guessing. Maybe I should wait until the winter when it is in the 70-80F range.

Yeah, I kind of figured... that rules me out for the next 4 months... It wont be under 85F (before midnight) until October here in Phoenix.

All the trenchant *****ing about who's smoking crack and who's a fukking idiot or whatever aside, I think both fifth- and sixth-generation Maximas are beautiful and unique vessels. Whereas the 2000-2003 models conveyed a car with more practical, luxurious sensibilities, the 2004 model displays an ambitious sporting design. Neither is abominable, neither is perfect.

To post images of a 2004 model along with playground-worthy jabs about this ugly part and that stupid feature just smacks of the same seminal childishness that plagues Internet forums everywhere. Sticking photos everywhere and trying to employ them as a means of aesthetic combat is absurd and inflammatory -- people like and dislike all varieties of material possessions, and by God, nothing's going to change that.

I am supremely biased, of course, because I have a 2004 Maxima with which I'm quite smitten. I don't have "buyer's remorse," and for my first three months of ownership, I've been greeted with more positive comments from the mouths of complete strangers than I ever would have imagined. Meanwhile, I'm not sticking my tongue out at all those who own 1981-2003 Maximas and acting like a smug little *****.

The incessant need for people to poor-mouth the most innately mundane things in life is sad. Be proud of what you have without disparaging others, and see if it proves to be more or less satisfying than the customary M.O. of sniping and firing insults back and forth.

I like pictures, too. I'm just not sure I like them being used for the purpose of starting fights about which car looks badass, retarded, fukked up, sweet, dope, ridiculous, etc.

For every image what's-his-**** posted to prove that the 2004 Maxima wasn't appealing, I was reminded of some of the many things that I enjoy about the car. Because such a tactic only leads to more aggressive convergences of opinion, it's pretty clear that the sole reason one chooses to employ it is to try to coax a war of words out of those who feel differently -- pretty weak, I must say.

Thanks. I'm not trying to win points or anything, but as far as I'm concerned, if you two give your approval, that's worth something. I've seen reasonable and respectable posts from both of you, not trite, whiny stuff about which year kicks *** and which year sucks it.

aftermarket parts are few and far between at this point. Be careful, at least one site is selling some parts that they say are for 04's, when they are actually for 03s. Those were pedals, I don't know about any other products.

comments like.."..at certain angles, it's starting to grow on me"

At certain angles my neighbours overweight wife doesnt look too bad either, but I would hate to have to wake up beside her every morning.

I traded the AE for the '04 SE 6spd. Ever since then I've been sleeping in the car. I can leave the door unlocked if you want a test drive but fair warning, she likes to cuddle.
