Sluggish Acceleration?
Sluggish Acceleration?
Hi Everyone,
I loved my 04 Maxima for the first 1,400 miles. Then I heard a "pop" and thud under the hood and it hasn't been the same car since. Now, I have sluggish acceleration and I feel that I have to gun the engine more to get the desired performance.
The problem seems to happen in the 1,700 to 2,700 RPM range and I just don't have any get up an go in normal city and highway driving. the Service Manager test drove it and said they don't see any noticeable performance degradation. (Yeah right!) I have taken it the Dealer twice and they checked the computer and said their are no error codes stored in it. The basic service approach seems to be that if there are no error codes, then there must not be any problems.
Has anybody else had a problem like this? Can anyone think of a cause of sluggish performance in the 04 Maxima that won't show up on the computer diagnostics?
Thanks for your help.
Joe
