Which 6th Gen Max Trim You Drive?

I think when you put enough money into them, they're basically the same -- with the obvious exceptions of the ride/handling. So it just came down to what drove the smoothest as a daily driver and what equipment was available in my price range. Then I remembered my friend, who bent 2 18" rims this past winter with the wonderful potholes that we get in the area...
At that point I figured get the SL (a couple of months ago) and wait until April, then put a nice set of aftermarket 18s on it when the potholes are fixed.
Incidentally... the week after I got my SL he went and traded in his GS430 for an SE.

Hi!
Ive got an SL w/ 17's. I just realized yesterday that my tire pressure was 24-25 psi (it was in the morning, with temps in the lower 30's), and i drove that car for over 600 miles in a span of 4 days last weekend. Do u think it damaged my rims or something? Should I have it checked in the dealership?
Any comments will be very much appreciated. Thanks guys!
FOR ALL THE CLARK HOWARD LISTENERS, ALL THE OPTIONS WERE NOT VERY IMPORTANT TO ME.
SAVING MONEY WAS THE BIGGEST ISSUE WITH ME AND THE SPORTY,RADIENT EMBER, 6SP MANUAL WAS A BARGIN TO ME WITH A CAR OF THIS CALIBER.
ENVY IS A UGLY THING AND MY OPTIONS ARE ALWAYS OPEN FOR WAY CHEAPER THAN THE FACTORY CAN EVER OFFER.

05 SE 6speed is the ooooooonnnlllyyy way to fly. The leather, heated steering wheel and seats and the other driver preferred stuff makes for one awesome ride. And why change those neat 18 inchers??? Waiting anxiously for my Sarona body kit I bought off ebay. ANd more anxiously for SSR to sell the supercharger.
Deus - The leather, heated steering wheel and seats, driver preferred pkg features, etc, are mostly standard on the SL, but cost several thousand dollars to add to the SE. Even the SE and SL engines are the same.
For this comparison thread, what you like about your SE is the 6 speed, the 18" wheels and the omission of woodgrain trim (only available in the SL). Everything else you mentioned is standard (or available) in the SL.
And you are required by board rules to post pics of your neato body kit as soon as it is installed.

10 yrs from now my son will be 16. Ember will be the perfect car for a beginning driver, sporty, eye-catching color, manual transmission and still able to attract the girls.
To keep Ember happy on our 5th year anniversary, already paid for, I will put some nice leather seat covers replacing the black cloth. And by then a nice stereo upgrade w/dvd navigation.
The rest of the upgrades will come from my son when he's able to take on the responsibilities.
He is the one who pointed at Ember at the dealership and said "Daddy I like that one, you should get that car."
You know what they say a vehicle is the second biggest investment and their is know better investment than Ember the 6sp SE Maxima.

I have an 05 Liquid Silver SE with Driver preferred package. The Driver pref pkg has all options I wanted, stereo, heated seats, auto entry system etc
(No Elite pkg cause I gotta fit the kids in the back.)
No sun roof, I like the look of the Skyview window.
I would have liked to have the traction control but none of the Maxima's in town had all the options I wanted (or two many opts) so I just did without the traction control. Paid $28,8766 then add some tax.
I totally enjoy driving my car, I had a Ford Focus before, what a step up!

I think I'm being fair, since I had my dad's 1986 Porshe 944 in HS 1992.

It's not a matter of fairness. It's a matter of judgment and experience driving a very fast and powerful car...
Got the first pic of my SE on the forum!

Just got done washing her and she is going in the garage to get poilshed and waxed!
I am happy with my SE. It does sit a little high but I don't think I am going to lower it. I want to put Xenon lights in it but it sounds like a project. Right now I am putting the first good coat of wax on her for the winter and getting the windows tinted 20% tomorrow. I will have more pics!!!

When we go to Alabama for the summers and my son ask me daddy will you teach me how to drive and he's old enough I am going to teach him, of course on those dirt roads that still do exist all over Alabama. I think that is fair. Believe you me I know all about experience, learned how to ride a motorcycle at the age of 7yrs old. Believe it or not I would trust some kids before I would trust some adults in my drivers seat. Don't get me wrong the max is fast but let's not over do it. I've seen teenagers driving cobras, sti's, evo's and hell I drove a 944 which wasn't a slush buckett.
Judgement is not always = to the older you are.
Responsibility = good experience.

Your plan to mentor your son as a driver is most commendable. However, many if not most beginning drivers at age 16 possess less judgment, less awareness of risk, and more interest in "seeing what she'll do" than is good for them. This is even more true if they are trying to impress their friends. Even drivers into their early 20's are disproportionately involved in accidents relative to their percentage of the total driving population. I suggest that these factors are worth thinking about.

My driving record is one ticket doing 27mph in 25 going down hill.(13yrs ago)
My point is driving should be a life lesson not just take a test, get your licsence and go.
If that is part of the case we don't want to mentioned many late 50's because awareness, judgement and reaction times slow. I can't remember the last close encountered with a teen but I can remember a few with seniors.
We shouldn't dicuss this topic on this thread, its disrespectful!!!!!!!!
cannonscreation,
