I think that what 6thGenMax has proven is that the Berk intake does actually increase horsepower. Perhaps not as much as was anticipated, but at least it didn't lose any power, as that can happen with some products.
Most people on this forum want to customize their vehicles to some degree, whether it's as simple as floor mats or going all out. It's all about individual taste and preference. Nothing wrong with that. My personal thinking is that the engine is fine, but the suspension needs help.
It's remarkable that the manufacturer has the courage to have his product tested in basically an open forum. Hats off to him. That shows me that he has nothing to hide and stands behind his product.
As to the warranty with the Stillen supercharger (unfortunately only available to rear wheel drive cars), do you think Nissan would warranty any part of the driveline after one of those units was installed? I would be very surprised. Not sure how much extra the Stillen warranty costs, or what it covers (couldn't find that info at Stillen), so I can't comment on it. Would love to have something similar developed for the Maxima.

I think you are wrong... My dealership installed my intake, exhaust and rear sway bar and warrantied their work. Everything on the original warranty is still intact unless they can prove that the mods busted your ride...

My dealership loves working on my ride and have also installed aftermarket products for free because they think it's the best MAX they work on - lol...

JiuJitsuThug, you have to tell me where your dealership is. i'm in san diego during the weekdays and would like get my car fixed (under warranty without hassle). i always drive up to orange county get my car serviced, since i bought my max in buena park, but it'll be better for me if i find a good dealership that would work on my max without any hassle in san diego. plus we have to go cruise around together...

Once I took my car to a dealer and even told the service advisor what was wrong with the car (catalyctic converter). When he opened up the hood, he said they will replace the catalyctic converter without the warranty and I had to sign a waiver. He noticed that I had a header, aftermarket intake, aftermarket exhaust, platinum sparks plugs, etc. If the dealer installed all your aftermarket parts then they should honor the warranty but if you installed it yourself, you should call and ask them first.

So no re-dyno with the new filter?

I look on Injen's site and see that they have dyno figures in the high-teens with their intake on the 6th gen max. Obviously these are too high, but If the Injen actualy produces 5hp from the Berk's 2-3hp I'll buy the Injen.

Is the Injen really better though? I'd like to get an intake and $ is no object.

I'm partial to Injen primarily cause for the 350z it produced more hp than any other intake.

Ah...we need concrete data...

I think you guys are putting away too much faith in air filters. A filter is a filter. A flow bench really doesn't mean much because the filter's CFM can't be realized by the motor. I've made numerous runs on the track with K&N, HKS foam, and NO filter and there's absolutely no measurable difference in ET or MPH. Zlich.

BTW, you really need to post the graphs, not just the peak number data. Peak numbers are for bench racing and power under the curve is where races are won.
