Smoking the headlight chrome
just a slight haze, kind of like when you dont wipe your interior windows down for a few weeks.
They are fumes and gases releasing from the materials used to make the dash and interior. It's that "new car smell" and it collects on our winshield. One guy covered his dash and went as far as using Carb. cleaner on the interior windshield to finally remove the built up film. I know Invisible Glass, as great as it works, even smears mine.
I also think it is the paint fumes on your headlights. so it seems for the "perfect" job you skipped the hardest yet easiest part: let the painted headlights cure and "gas out" before reassembling.

Damn Deus sorry about your headlight. It could probably be what Nismo mentioned about the paint cureing, which could take a week if not more. Can you put the headlight back in the oven and bake it (again) to reseal it in the case it is an improper seal?

Yes I may rebake them to clean off the lenses.
Im not up for rebaking right now since its a pain in the a$$. But, when Im tired of the haze (which isnt too bad by the way), then ill do the deed. Until then, Im gonna paint my brakes red this weekend.

Seems about the same. Its only noticable in certain light. Its not the end of the world, but its a bit annoying. Just very difficult to capture on film

At 900 bucks a pop. It reminds me of the movie Full Metal Jacket, In Vietnam during a battle, one of their guys got waxed, after the battle, all the guy's were standing over him saying what a nice guy he was, the only honest dude was the M60 Machine Gunner who said, Better You, Then Me!!! Good luck dude...
lolz... wasnt complicated at all to do, the only problems was resealing it... i bought some aftermarket sealant to top it off soo water wont get in there... and yes i painted the reflector since it was imposible to take off...
dues, was talkin with fastmax and maybe we'd meet here at my place if its easier for all and have a mini black out get together but of course youre the expert on this so ill follow your lead ok f/m?

I like body color, but black is great too. Personal preference. Check out Kams ride for smoke car and black lights. Im gonna see Kam too but not til the after next weekend since my son is flying in from Iraq and family is coming to town.
didnt mean to bump an old post.
deus, what did you end up doing for the haze? i see a little bit on mine how. i did mine during spring break [about 2 weeks ago] . i too dread taking the headlight apart again. i am thinking IF i have to, ill clean them real well and put them together. at the same time its cooling down, apply some clear silicon around for an extra protection layer "per se"

I never opened them back up but I am always tempted to do so. I think goof off would clean off the haze. One of these days Ill reopen them and maybe do halos and then clean off the haze.
I wanna paint my headlight housing on my 2008 maxima after seeing MaXXXpower's sick headlights but I quickly notice the huge difference between our headlights.
I've been searching the web looking for my model headlights with painted housing but no luck.
