Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you will come out on top. If you have mods, hopefully you can salvage some of those parts and possibly move on to an '05. Let us know.

Dude, you totally have my sympathy. I have had my parked car totalled TWICE!!!! First, my Turbo Volvo station wagon was destroyed by a big rig, and then my Eagle Talon had the radiator pushed into the front block by an idiot who didnt know how to drive her bf's Expedition. Im lucky nothing has happened with my Maxima, especially since I commute alot.

Nobody hurt = the good news.

In the grand scheme of things it won't matter much.
cars = replaceable
people != replaceable

Patience my friend, you will have a shiny new MAX soon enough.

Yeah, Dont know if it helps or not but most are thankful that the insuance company totals the car.

Would you rather have your max back with say 15-20k of repairs or would you rather go car shopping.

I was hit 3 times in 4 months all of which were not my fault.

A guy pulled out from a dead stop on the pa turnpike (65 mph) directly into me, I didnt even get to hit my breaks, my front right headlight hit his suv's left wheel and did about 12k damage and the insurance fixed it.

Had the car back for three weeks and someone slid through a stop sign in the snow in virginia and hit the exact same spot for about 3k

and on the beltway around dc about a month later someone 2 lanes to my left hit the car to my left who hit me in the rear left wheel/ gastank/q -panel/ tailight to the tune of about 5k.

So im sitting on a 2k2 gle which was my baby and has 20k worth of repairs in it....How long do you think it will last?

hence, im shopping 6th gens right now

On a serious note, sorry bout your ride Ghostrider, but like someone said earlier, cars are replaceable, but it still hurts I know.

still chuckling at that holy buckets comment.

Sorry man, at least you don't have to worry about waiting for it to get fixed, hopefully you get your check soon.

I had my '05 two days (my first time in a Maxima - LOVED all 100 miles of it) Got rearended at a stoplight, 19k worth of damage, 2k short of totaling it. It's been 47 days now, should actually have it today, going to call the repair shop now.

It took 44 days and at least 20 phone calls to the dealership, repair shop, and Nissan (gotta love their hold times, is it always like that or just recently?) to obtain a single part, a stupid clock spring. I thought our cars had digital clocks? j/k

oh yeah, sorry for hijacking your thread. Still a newbie - just had to vent.
