Like I said, good attempt tp distinguish it from the Alti and covering the recess. I'm sure some will like it, just hold one and make another as they are ordered I guess.
It seems the majority wants an S2 type. I suggest adding a lip to cover the whole and make everything flush, or possibly a wedge covering it, ramping up to the grille. Maybe some would like to put a badge there. I've been waiting on your grille for the simple fact that other mesh ones leave that gap exposed.

Getting premium mesh available for us should be enough to set it apart. Whatever mesh you use, will it be possible to get some so we can fit in a body kit for a lower grille?

Great! What are we looking at for price with black mesh? Is it black plastic behind it or black metal? Whenever its available show me to it, Ill buy one. What I get back for selling the Trenz SHOULD more than cover the cost of this one, no?

I still must say I would have been happier without the bars, if you made the altima S5 grille for the maxima. But you probobly put the bars because of the recess you needed to cover up at the bottom. If theres any chance of you doing one just like the S5, (I think it would be a great Idea to offer both choices) I will hold off...otherwise Ill just get the one you made cuz Its still my favorite so far.

Is this thing going to come black? I see on your site how its $75 to have it matched to the car...hopefully its black unpainted.

Black is the signature maxima color remember, therefore the grille should come black too.

The final pricing is going to have this breakdown:

Grille Unpainted: $210
Paint: $75
Oval Mesh: Standard
Diamond Mesh: $10
Natural Aluminum Mesh: Standard
Powdercoated Black Mesh: $10

BUT, we're going to run an intro price of $199 unpainted and $250 painted...options pricing is still the same. The mesh is not plastic it's made out of aluminum...if you get the black mesh, it's powdercoated black, which is much more durable than regular paint and will not chip.

Mike already stated he would work on an S2/S5 version for the Maxima but it will be at the minimum a couple months in development.

You didnt answer my question about what unpainted actually is, is it flat black when its unpainted?

Will it come just like the one in the 1st post?

We're definitely keeping this grille, and I will create a Maxima version of the Altima design as fast as I possibly can so that there will be two offerings for the Maxima. Cost should be similar to the Altima grilles.

Thanks for the input!
How bout tacking the mesh to an aluminum frame that matches the border? Then it would make it easier to replace the mesh (or whatever insert), and I think this would work for both grill designs mentioned here.

P.S.. I like the look, it's unique. But like some have said, I want to get away from the tooth. Chrome mesh with a burger might convince me.

Thanks for the hard work...

The thing is, when you come out with a product which is similar in design to another, you are always going to look like you copied it.

Some people do not care for the look of my grill and that's fine with me. But you have to respect the vision, creativeness and craftmanship that went into making it.

I take pride in the fact that I created a new, unique design for a grill for my car. I expected people to copy it and I know there is nothing I can do about that.

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"
1. To use or follow as a model.
2.
1. To copy the actions, appearance, mannerisms, or speech of; mimic: amused friends by imitating the teachers.
2. To copy or use the style of: brushwork that imitates Rembrandt.
3. To copy exactly; reproduce.
4. To appear like; resemble.

I found this thread by trolling... fun.

I don't see how The active Tuning Grille resembles yours. I don't see how it's an exact copy. So you copied off of nissan then active tuning copied off of you? C'mon dude. get a grip. I personall know the active tuning folks and Know that they have had many of their designed copied by bigger and smaller companies alike. These for the most part were exact replicas. There is no resemblence of your vertical "blade" for the "Tooth". Being that the AT "Tooth" is blunt, i would imagine they were closer to the OEM design than yours.

Wow looks good, however Roy "04RedOpMax" could sue for copyright. Overall, not feeling it though...

And by the way, that "suit" would hold no ground in court because the grilles bear NO resemblence to each other. Go talk to a lawyer.

OK Mr. deep thinking lawyer, it was a joke that stipulated the close similarities of the two grills… Go grab a beer and chill…

What grill are you looking at? At least 10 people have written posts saying the ActiveTuning grill looks like mine.

And you spelled "copyrighted" wrong. Twice.

Come on guys......Nice work on the grill. No, it may not be everyone's flavor, but they did step up and make something nice for the Max. That's a lot more than I can say for a lot of aftermarket companies...... I'm a lawyer and I don't think there's a suit here. LOL!! I know Chris was joking and admittedly, the grills do look very similar. However, it seem inevitable that various mods are going to resemble one another because there are only so many alternatives to go with. Anyway, good work Active and thanks for stepping it up on the Max. I do also agree with other posters on here that another version would probably appeal to Max owners even more. If it were to resemble the Altima grill on the ride of "djliquidice" that would be a tight look for the Max too. No, I don't want the Max to look any more like the Altima, but that is a fresh look. I don't know if that is the same style others were referring to. Anway, again, props on the grill and look forward to seeing the other grill too.......PEACE

go away. no one cares. why did you bring up this thread? did you notice no one posted in it for a week? obviously you have an affiliation with AT. So why play dumb saying you came across this thread? All anyone said is that there are similarities. If you guys can't see that, then your vision is as good as your spelling.

It's no one's fault other than AT for waiting soooo long to finally release their grille they hyped up so much and it looks like one already made. Instead of getting offensive when that was pointed out, it should have been recognized that many liked Roy's grille.

So this thread is done until further updates are done, not going to happen, but done as in available.
