Got A Remote Start Installed
#42
I have a CodeAlarm ELITE CA-670..
http://www.powercallsirens.com/ca670.htm
The newest one.. Cost me 700 including install. Glass Break Sensor, and Shock Sensor included.. 1 LCD and 1 Reg. Remote w/LED light... Really Sweet.. I couldnt stand on my last Remote start/alarm i had only one remote... This time i have 2... Mine has about 80 or so settings, and the LCD is awesome... I can set it up to turn on at a certain time from my LCD remote, and other things as well.. Like starting it up during cold temps, and pressing 2 buttons together and it turns on the rear defroster...stuff like that... I have always had remote starts since they came out... Love them...Even the remote, has different tones that you can select.. AWESOME REMOTE START SYSTEM... Took them about 6-8 hours to install.. I had to bring it back so they could fix the doors, so they would unlock as soon as the key was turned off.. There is so much you can do with this system... Also it has the upgradable TELE-LINK, so you can do it from your phone or website access..
This i have heard from a friend who did this(locked his keys inside), but if you have a cell phone, without the added system, and you have someone there at home, or who has your other remote, you can put the cell phone near the antenna, and your friend(spouse) puts the other remote close to the phone it will transmit the signal over the cell and unlock your doors... I havent tried it just yet...
Next step is my PAIN SIRENS, for the interior, and 2 Back-Up Batteries..
Remotes starts are the best thing for your vehicle.. When i get there the temp is right, and my car is ready to go...

Another thing that I have done is mentioned here...http://www.carsound.com/UBB/ultimate...=002070#000007, it does work. I used pins 14 and 11. Also note his pin 1 is opposite of what the service manual states so use his picture as reference. All your wiring can be attached at the BCM, triggers (door and trunk), defroster (pin 9 white wire) trunk pop, dome light and I used relays (2 one for each side)to power turn signals for alarm flash (Brighter than parking lights). For window roll down (fronts) you can use a relay if you wish. I did about two weeks of research before doing my own car. Primary web site used were the12volt.com and the link above. I have two sirens. A normal and a battery backup. I put the normal on the ledge underneath the brake booster (you'll need a 12 inch extention) and if you remove the cover over the drivers strut mount you'll notice two bolt holes. I made a mount that screws into that and attached my battery back up siren to it.

Took them almost 6 hours. Total cost $386.00 installed. I love the 2-way remote. Works like a champ!

Man you seriously sound like you have serious electrical issues. ANd it might be something else that is causing the problem. Get it fully checked out by another dealership, and figure out the problem beofre something really goes wrong.. Good Luck..

Well, I got my alarm installed and I love it except for one thing. When I engage the remote start, the parking lights are set to flash while the car is running. I understand this is the default setting. How difficult is it to change this to the alternate setting where the parking lights just stay on?
BTW: The alarm is a Clifford Matrix 3.5.
