The best you will likely get in town will be between 21 and 24 mpg. The Max does better on the road. I get between 27 and 29 mpg driving at 70 to 80 mph. If I drive slower (around 65 mph) the mileage goes up by about 1 mpg.

When you put in the K&N drop in filter did the service light come on?

Nope... its just takes about a tank of gas until you get better gas mileage, because the computer needs to adjust to the higher airflow capacity. But no light, common misconception(sp?)

The fuel economy computer on my '04 (38k+ miles) is consistently off by between 3 and 10% (reporting high, of course). I have tracked every tank of gas into the car and I am getting about 24.8 mpg overall. However, what we call city driving here in Michigan is like highway driving most anyplace else. Speaking of highways, 70 mph is slow, 80 mph is normal, and 100 mph happens on occasion (get pissed off at the slow guy in front of you in the left lane and blow him off while passing on the right - it happens...)
