9012 Bulbs....

I am looking for a replacement/aftermarket headlight bulb for the Max. I don't have the HID's but I do want something brighter. Anyone know where I can get aftermarket 9012's? I searched and found nothing. Thanks.

yea, from what other members have done to install brighter lights is, used the 9006 bulb and cut down one of the tabs on either the bulb or headlight housing to get it to fit inside. the one tab that you cut will not harm the way the bulb is held, it just need to be cut so all the tabs on the 9006 bulb fit inside the hole so then you can twist and lock it in place..

Try these sites I found the while looking for alternatives, but ended up going with an hid kit.

Scroll all the way to the bottom to see the HB-4 bulb
HB4 Lightbulbs

also try here. Thay have ones in a 9006 platform. I used the 9006 buld in hid and it fit with no modification.

Eurolamps.com

They have 3 types xenon charged Blue/White. direct replacement (no ballast required), Yellow SuperBright ION, and Blue/Gold SuperBright ION

If you e-mail them they'll tell you what set-up will work with your model/year car

The 9006 is not as bright as the 9012. You can buy aftermarket 9006s that are WHITER, but not brighter. If I were you I'd stick with the 9012s. They are quite bright and they are a somewhat new bulb type that lasts longer than traditional halogens. So far I have only found these bulbs on the internet. I believe I found replacements on Ebay. Or you could let the dealer rip you off

Thanks, I think I am going to forget the headlight thing and just stick with my stock 9012's. I don't want to spend the loot on the HID's.

Try the 9011, high-beam version of the 9012.
