OMFG the headers feel and sound awesome and on the way home, Corey and I did a road test "not racing" and the feel and sound was superb. Corey and I also did a test run and he was driving a Pontiac STP with a supercharger and lets just say the pontiac did not fair so well. We also weigh all the parts and the header mod shaved 35lbs off the car. FTW!!!
Guys, I just go home and it's 3:10 in the morning and after 11 hours working with the RedLineMax Team I am freakin exhausted. (that does not include the 3 hour drive round trip) Well coming home was much faster...
I will post more pictures and details but we are very proud to say it can be done and RedLineMax has now wrote the how too for 6th Gen Header Mod.
Go get em boyz...
Hotshot Headers out of the box "listed as the New Altima SE-R with the high flow cat"
Headers Up...
High flow cat where the O2 sensors get re-routed to from the stock pre-cats

What we took out...

I will then take it to Maryland International Speedway and check quarter mile time...
Oh and congrats on your new baby or should I say "Happy Fathers Day"
Thanks, I havent been getting any sleep so my mother in law stayed with my wife and baby at the hospital tonight. So did it make the exhaust a lot louder? any buzzing? I figured since theres still a cat it would have just got a little deeper and a tad louder.

Also based on my experience with the CE y-pipe it feel like I regained some of my low end torqe back...
I knew they would fit, HOT SHOT even told me they don't, I was willing to try them, but the money wasn't there for me at the time..
good job Chris and Redline, this is really a step up for us..
not to rush, but lets see that dyno after a the fuel tune..

awesome..... need stickies on this one..... I am on the other side of the US so I don't have the ability to take it to redline...... please post what you can..... they look great and the sensors look like they were extended..... I recommend you put conduit around those wires and wrap them with a heat protection tape or wrapping.... to keep them from getting hot and melting.... other than that I thank you for doing this..... I will be doing this real soon.....
FWIW, I've been in conversations with both Hot Shot and the state of TX trying to see if putting these things on will cuase you to fail your emissions tests (given that it does remove the pre-cats).
So far, one official says yes, it will cause your car to fail but another isn't so sure (as long as it passes the emissions test). If these were CARB approved then it would be a non-issue, but they aren't.
I would be VERY curious to know what the emissions levels are before/after this modification.
Any chance of getting that info?

Sweeeeeet!! Nice work team, my Max has been a little quiet (no pun intended) on the mods lateley, looks like it's time to jump back on!!
OH and Glude congrats on the ababy, I'm celebrating my first Father's day today as well!!!!!
(my boy is 5.5 months)

Congrats MAN! This is awesome, groundbreaking. I've been checking Maxima.org every hour for the results. I can't believe that this is a direct bolt on! Hotshot must be trying to protect their R&D time when they come out with the official header.
Time for some video clips.

We removed the front frill, air intake housing for better access to remove the front header and pre-cat, almost all bolts where accessable from the Top Front, ensure you disconnect all O2 sensors first. Also for the front header to come out you need to seperate it from the Pre-cat or you will not be able to remove as one piece. Hammer time after bolt removal...

The rear heat shield was hard to get, in order to take this picture, we had to remove the below bracket and housing near the lower front windshield...

Unless you garage is equiped with Impact and special wrenchs with lots of extentions and metric sizes (mostly 10mm through 14mm) do not do this mod. This is a hands down shop mod needing a minimum of 2 people to do...

yea my friend with the altima se-r last night, me and him (not street racing) were just doing test from like 50-60 mph roles up to like 85 then slowing down....before his headers we were pretty much dead even....with the headers, all i can say is his car is seriosly a friggin beast. He has the exact ones you have chern. goodluck with your mod.

Another problem encountered with the rear header that made it time consuming to take off and put on is the ERG pipe. You need a big wrench to remove and a small space to for it in so you could only take 1/4 turns. Also the pipe is fixed and ridgit so you need to insert this pipe first into the rear header first which then messes up your alignment with the rear bolt holes but with a little finess (big Hammer) taping and guiding you can get it in their. We actually need 3 people during this phase, a tapper, guider and one person to hold the gasket so it would not fall off or get damaged. Again, very tough time but IT DOES FIT!!!

It's very important to tighten down the headers before installing the y-pipe to ensure a proper seal.

The Hotshot kit comes with all the bolts to interconnect the pipes only.
It does however have all new gaskets (5 total).
You will have to reuse your original header bolts so don't loose them...
Once everything is bolted up, you will need to splice extentions for your Cat O2 sensors, these are the original sensors that where located after each precat (stock) but now nust extend rearware and attached after the new High Flow Cat.
