Springs in Front only??? Adverse effects?

Wondering if putting Eibach springs to lower the front only on my 06 Max would cause any adverse effects? Any insights are appreciated.

Thanks...

More understeer, thats about it. Do you have any other suspension mods? A bigger RSB would off set it slightly.

When installing Catmans I ripped around with front springs only. Then installed the rears.

Not much difference, only .7 of an inch.

I only did the front with my progress but I will have my system finished in about a week and with the added weight I may not want to put the rears in. There is a bit of understeer but it is not dramatic at all.

when your front wheels lose grip and the car plows straight ahead. its easily corrected by hitting the brakes or just letting up off the throttle. cars are dialed in that way from the factory so the average joe does spin out off the road.

How hard do you have to be taking corners to feel the understeer with the front only change in the springs? Does it affect normal driving; taking on bumps and dips in the road, and normal speed entrances into turns? Or is it at the extremes limits of the car? Thanks.

I have the Eibachs all around. I also have the Stillen anti-sway bar and FSB. Great handling. On the Eibach site it says that all 4 springs should be installed for safety and handling. Why would you not put them in the rear? Its a easy install.

I'm a sales rep and I have a ton of stuff in my trunk, all of my work stuff which is @ 40lbs, plus my kids team baseball equipment and my golf clubs. This is before any people are sitting in the back seat or a tank of gas which is @ 160 lbs. I don't want to bottom out, so I think its sitting low enough already.

I have a nitrous bottle, amp and 12" woofer. I travel alot and at time my trunk is full and I have had no bottoming out problems. The last time I came back from Fl. I had 2 extra ppl in the car. Its only a 1/8" difference.

I'm running Eibachs in just the front and it looks great. The ride is a bit harsh, but I have Koni Yellows as well, so that might have something to do with it. If your just after an even drop, thats the easiest way to go.

I don't want my rear wheels, assuming I go 19's or 20's to be tucked into the fenderwell. The 18's I have stock sit pretty perfectly in the rear, where as the front is where I need to lower it.

You'll only get understeer when you start pushing the car towards its limits.

With my set-up. I have no problems at all. I push my ride at times and love the way it handles.

Right, I was wondering how hard do you have to be driving to experience the understeer. Like taking an average 90 degree turn, how fast is the car going before it loses grip? I don't drive my car too hard, don't want to spill my coffee!!
