You need to charge it for a longer period of time. Highly doubt anything major is wrong with the car. If it has been sitting for quite some time then the battery just drained by itself; it happens at the stealership that I work at, and when it does happen we just put a 45 minute charge on it and it's good as new!

ok, lets say this is the case, i do have another question. Do you know what could have caused this problem? i recently installed a PAC aux in adapter and i tapped a line driver into the power for the 12v next to the shifter. do you think that this could have effected it? i dont see how the battery just died, as i started it earlier in the day with no problem.

If it doesn't crank at all then it's purely dead! And if you have the PAC thing constantly on, then that slowly drained your battery.

could it be something other than the battery being dead? i mean, it doesnt seem like the batt is dead... all of the lghts are on in the car, and when i try to start they dont really dim... all i hear is the click from the solenoid, and no attempt to crank.

If you are jump starting it and all you hear is a click, chances are that your cables are not thick enough. Try using a thicker more heavy duty guage cable, same thing happened to me. I was trying to jump my car with thin cables, As soon as I used a thicker guage cable it started right up.

Same thing happened with my former car, a 98 corolla, the battery was fine. It turned out that the starter needed to be changed.

I had that on my 2000 SE once. I took it into a dealer and they found it was a relay on the ignition side.
