2004, No Acceleration

I am experiencing the same with my 04 Maxima. I have horrible fuel mileage since 5 months ago (18 MPG). I used to get 22 MPG. Car is also very heavy - as you mentioned on low gear sensation - I have done all required service, ECU reset, fuel flashing, etc. Any ideas?
I have a 2007 and had the same problem, after taking it in for service many times and was told it was fine, finally I told them I was going to get killed because I could not merge out into traffic -- I thought I was going to get rear-ended a few times! The service manager took it for a ride finally and had the same response, even though nothing was showing when it was hooked to the computer. They replaced the transmission control module and it was like a new car again. Now I have a weird "low gear" sensation when I'm hitting 40mph, it feels like a standard shift car and I feel like I should be downshifting. It has a sluggish deep vibrating feel which again they can't detect. I feel like they don't take my complaints seriously because I'm blonde and female! Love my car but getting very tired of bringing it in, I think they think I just want a free carwash sometimes.

get rid of the gas card and use your own CC, the gas cards limit you to 5% back on the 1st $600, my CC gives me double rewards on gas purchases and 5% cash back on the 1st $600 every month not every year like the gas companies, the gas cards look good if all you ever do is apply for it cause of the add above the pump, and gas cards don't build credit like you personal CC

The only prolem is for 4 years I have consistently been getting 20-22 in city and now all of a sudden only 18. Could there be a problem with one of the spark plugs. Would all aprk plugs problems show on display?

As I though, finally, changing the spark plugs fixed my gas mileage problem. I am getting 21.5 mpg (10.9 Litre/100Km) city driving as I did before.
Looking at the old spark plugs, I could see the spacing of the park plug was pretty much non-existant.

Sounds like the original spark plugs were torqued down too much. I've had this happen.
