Robert told me he's gonna post it up on NICO to advertise the work.. Correction: we BOTH got the connection to get these done lol. The plate is made out of scratch-resistant plexiglass. I posted pics on the 6th gen org.. but here they are...
PS. Sorry for the blurry shots.. it was almost 3 am when i took the pics. Also, that's my work room so excuse the dirty carpet..

Thanks guys for the compliments... I'm glad you all liked them. They ran me around $450 for everything... It sounds like a lot, but like every other mod we do, we get what we pay for. Material alone cost $350+ and labor, etc.
Installation wasn't as bad as I thought. I wired the rear sills to the rear doors step lights. and the front sills to the front foot wells. It took me about an hour or so to get them installed. And here they are...

04maxxxfreak, that's some real nice work. Who showed you how, was it Diggs, Armstrong or Caine? I also like the red brick in the background, is that your work too? Those sills in red/carbon fiber will look real kool!

sorry for the delay in response. I'm not the one making them, but I do have someone that does make them... which made them for me. The ones you guys see in the pics above are available, and when it comes to light colors... the only ones available are blue or white. However, white, during daytime, looks pinkish LOL... So i'd be very careful when I choose white as a color of lighting in the background of your sills.
The only backgrounds available for the custom work in my sills (w/MAXIMA and the lines lighted) are black background or aluminum (silver) color. OR you can choose to have one of the sills above in the group of sills pic. I think he can make it say anything you want instead of MAXIMA in the middle. I haven't tried the other sills, so I'm not sure how they're installed, but mine was made using my stock sills.
I hope I answered all your guys' questions..

At this point, it doesn't matter where they came from, all that matters is that you got'em on your car ant that **** is HOT! I'd like some in red myself! I'mma have to wait though, cuz $450 just ain't in the budget right now. . . .

holy **** 450 for door sills??!!? thats crazy. no offense but it seems like a waste of money just to have the worlds maxima light up on your door sill. i mean DAMN. but hey i guess we all have our priorities some want fancy light up door sills some want to go fast. i can't say either is right or wrong but i will comment on that price guys:
I would just my bring stockers to a custom shop, trust me it'll be cheaper. a place like RAD in NE would do that for under 300 most likely. Even a decent car audio shop would probably do this for you if they are familiar doing custom installs.
Also to do this yourself fwiw, and i honestly believe anyone could do a decent job at this:
take stock one, cut out maxima in the letters you want with a dremel, install plexi/aluminum/whatever you want as well, install leds, install in car. $50 bucks later you have your sills and better yet YOU made em!
why not contact paradox and see who made em for the 4th and 5th gens as well? get a run of 50 made or something.
I'm just try to give you guys some options other then spending $450 for some light up door sills. and out of curiosity how does the guy who makes these spend $350 in supplies? other then the CF everything should be pretty cheap that he is using...am i missing something?

First off... they're scratch-resistant plexiglass, which you, everyone and & I know is NOT cheap. The lettering is cut out from vinyl underneath the Plexi itself and it includes the lines on both sides of the Maxima.
Secondly, the LED underneath the plexi is not just a typical LED... it's as thin as a sheet of paper to be able to fit without any problems and to light up the MAXIMA and the lines evenly without any hot spots unlike regular LEDs do. Each front sills required 2 flat LED sheet strips/sill to cover the left and right half of it. The back sills require 1 flat sheet strip/sill on each side (driver & passenger). Each of which cost $25/per strip = $150 ONLY for LED sheet strips underneath the plexiglass.
Third, each strip is connected to a processors... like a fuse basically, which requires eash strip to be wired separately for the electric current to be even, and for the light not to flicker. It also serves the purpose of burning the processors in case any electric shorts happen to avoid damaging the LED sheet strip and to protect your car's interior power.
So basically...
- $150 for 4 front/2 rear LED sheet strips
- $50/door sill for plexiglass, cutting the plexi, plexi glue, scratch-resistant coating, vinyl underneath the plexi that says the MAXIMA and the lines to each side of it, and 6 processors (1 per LED strip) to avoid any shorting out your car's interior lights.
That's a total of $350 only in supplies + $25.00/sill for labor = $450.00 If you think you can make them for a cheaper price, please be my guest and show me (us) what YOU can do with your "less than $300" or your "$50."

LOL I said in post #53 that only Black & Aluminum backgrounds availABLE... if you want your sills to light up like mine.... OR you can choose one of the other sill in the 2nd picture that only light up the MAXIMA .

Yeah, it's not the most popular thing because of the amount of money that it costs to get something like this done. If the interior is that important to you then you might as well do it just for your own personal satisfaction and to show off of course.
