Dome light.

Quick question guys, I just got some led's for my dome light for my 06 max. How do I open/get access to the blubs? Is it the one screw in the sunglass compartment and just pull it down or am I missing a step? Help.

Take a small screwdriver (very small) and pop it open, or open the sun glass holder and pull them down from the back side. You don't need to pull down the whole piece, the lens comes right out...hope they're bright!!!

I got the 4-LED ones for the front and back dome lights... they look awesome.. I saw some 6-LED ones on Ebay that looked like they would fit also... They look really clean and are bright just like daytime light.... Hope you enjoy them. I just ordered the Vanity, Door, and Floorwell Lights for the interior also.

What type of LED's did you get? I've wanted to do this but since it was not high on my priority list might as well ask the Q. I want to do both front and rear domes.

I think what ghollum meant was which LED's did you get size wise. These things usually have a number that tells us which size they fit (like all other bulbs) I would also like to know, please enlighten us.

the plates are the easiest. Just remove a few of the plastic fastners and pull back the liner on the trunk lid and you'll have access to the lights for the plate . the blubs are 168/194 for those...same blub but it goes by both numbers.

these also are the same blub types for the courtesy light for the front foot area....but the passerger side needs a LED with the lights on the side not facing foward....or as they are called...wide view LED's....

like those.....

Ok guys I have a GD going on LED's these are by far the best brightest lights out on the market and they are guaranteed for life! Here's the ink:

http://www.6thgenmaxima.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5913

note: comes with 3 connectors (194, festoon and bayonet (which we don't use))

These come in either white or blue (your choice)

Here's the blue in the floors and whites in the domes....

Hit me up!!!

So we would need 2 map lights and 2 dome lights correct, and then 4 door lights.

careful with those type of dome lights. I purchased some led replacements from JP and put them in and they didn't go completely off when I shut and locked the door and then killed my battery during shipment to Hawaii from Seattle. Didn't realize it even at night because of my tint on the windows and how dim the lights where when "turned off". I had forgotten my phone one night in the car, after I got here and already bought a new battery, and noticed the dome lights were lit very dim. so I ripped them out and checked voltages and resistances. Nothing was wrong with the wiring or the bulbs. So I went to Nissan the next day and talked with the tech who told me that the car was wired in series not parallel, so I had to change my floor led lights to regular bulbs in order for the dome lights to completely shut off.

What about that little light in between the map lights? I can barely see any light coming out of that little sliver. is there a way i can make it so there is actually some "mood" lighting coming out of there? anyone know what i am talking about?

Thanks for the tips to get access to change the dome lights. Best I used a very small 2.4 mm flat precision screw driver. At the hinge side slowly lift the front end and then the rear end of lens. Likewise lift the switch side last. Comes out easily and replace pushing in the reverse order.
