desperate for input please.

Ok im picking up my maxima this weekend finally after waiting on a loan and whatnot. its a silver 05.

when i get my max im instituting operation chrome-out. ill be putting chrome trim on the side mirrors door handles and center console. im doing it cuz i think chrome and silver look good together. ill also be upgrading the sound system, grill, tail lights and possibly a cold air intake.

some thinks im having a hard time with is finding a good set of rims and tires that are 20's that are moderate in price cuz im on a tight budget. i want to get the rims and tires for $1500 or less, a tall order i know. i plan on owning this car till either i die or it dies, whichever is first. so if any of you have any spare time and have any ideas for the rim/tires hook me up please.

i have a huge mod bug begging to be released, i might do the led's on the interior too if i can manage it.

Agreed with nismo4life, dont get those also. i would not put chrome on the mirrors, they just dont look good on our cars just my opinion. You dont want it looking like an chevy impala or some chrysler 300 pimped out, the bling look is getting a bit too old but to each its own, remember its your car and you will be driving it. Good luck

i tend to like the opposite, more black than chrome but like i said, its your car and you have to drive it not me, lol. Now chrome rims are real nice i actually like them, check craigslist you will be able to find some real good deals. Good luck and remember to post pictures

PS, i am no hater nor is my car riced out, lol

your car is ugly!! lol naw im kiddin. but... i do think the chrome mirror covers are a little too much... but like hamcham said.. to each his own. as lnog as you like how your car looks then go for it. it dont matter what everyone else says. you dont wanna be drivin somethin that looks like everything else out there... be original. but be tasteful.

i also have this crazy idea about putting subs under the rear seat and having them face out where you put your feet down and covering it with plexiglass or something like that but thats probably either impossible, impractical or really stupid. probably some form of all 3 right.

I personally hate chrome, but we all have different taste. I agree with Hamchan said, you don't want it look like a Chyrsler 300. BTW, don't buy those ugly tail lights, like everyone else said, get LED tail lights or just tint your OEM tail lights. But remember, you do your own mods because it makes you happy. Good luck bro, and I hope you post up pictures.

You can't do it. Unless you put your gas tank in the trunk??? your gas tank is located directly under the back seat. Also I like your idea with the chrome. I am not too sure about the tails. I saw a pic with them on a white max and not in my taste. ezkoncepts has about 5 different led choices. there are a couple you might really like. check them out. Also I think there is a black set of the ones you are wanting. They IMO would look better on grey. You could get the ones you suggested and if you don't like the look Tint them. this way they will look sick in the day and night. I like the way they look at night just not daytime. GL and post pics.

Ah both rims are nice! But I think the second one looks best! I am not sure about you guys, but I think simple designs looks best on a Maxima.

And for the LED tail lights I think the ones you have on the link are way too, futuristic looking for our cars. I have seen the new Mazdas with those kinds of tail lights and I don't like them at all. BUT! If you were to tint those lights I think it will work.

To each their own. But too much chrome will not look good. Besides, some of those chrome things start falling off slowly over time.

Hey, the car is yours. Final decision is yours. Checkout other chrome Maximas on cardomain. If its what you like, do it and enjoy your car.

Goodluck, men. Welcome to the org.

Hey Maxima365 I found you a 20" rim that a fellow .Org member is selling!

http://forums.maxima.org/wheels-tire...ht-wheels.html

I am not sure if you like the design but it is chrome and looks pretty nice!

Just so you know I had the chrome door handles. After one winter, the road salt got them and they had pit marks all over them. The surface wasn't smooth anymore. When I went to remove them I had to use a heat gun because they tucked over the handles. Just a little of the paint melted at the bottom of the door handle.

I'll post a pick of how they look after they came off !

Here are some links to possible rims. I bought my set from this same exact seller and everything was perfect. Mounted and balanced on Toyo tires and shipped to my door for one low price. Shipping was very quick also and the guy was super nice to talk to. Check em out. The first set is what I have on mine.

There is a whole different section for audio here on the forums that have guys who are experienced in this sort of thing. I say do your research, sounds are not cheap and I am sure you want to do it right the first time.

Hey that's my car!!!

And maxima365, don't get those EBAY tails. The whole reason we designed the EZkoncepts versions was due to us seeing those and not having any other options. The EZ's were thought up/designed/and are being sold by forum members! Support the cause (and look good)

As foe wheels, take your time look for deals and don't settle!!! This is a good site to check out wheels: http://www.buywheelstoday.com/

Again, after some time they get dull and start to pit from road salt.

I was thinking, why did I put this CRAP on my ride. The handles were to difficult to remove. The space was limited and I tride a flat screw driver, but the paint was going to come of with them. I got my heat gun and tried to heat them even without damaging the paint. You can see in the second pick, I almost damaged the entire passenger side handle.

you want chrome, get chrome. Not my cup of tea, but it aint my car either. As far as sound goes, I got a JL system done for less than $8 hundey with custom box for the trunk. Yes, I did buy off of ebay as the warranty is void but it is also half as much and I have had no issues for over a year. I even have a bass **** installed right where the lighter outlet is on the shifter. Looks so stock. Do what makes you happy. Remember that if you drive a lot, 20s will last around 20K until you have to change tires. I have the s drives now but miss my toyos.
