Installed! Disconnected the battery to ensure no CEL or additional codes. Took off the old one, installed the new one, reconnected the battery and started the car. No CEL and the car runs fine. I also changed my oil and added the traction bars from racinglineperformance.com while I was under there. The car sticks to the ground with the bars installed and the throttle seemed to be quicker and I didn't notice the lag you normally have when you accelerate.

so is there any dyno numbers to support these claims? I am just curious how the maf sensor can increase throttle response....does in alter the voltage signal or what?

There are no dyno numbers because this thing is just a sensors. A sensor will not do a damn thing to increase performance.

I'm telling you guys... it's all in your heads. Placebo effect. A simple sensor (that's identical to stock) won't do anything.

I'd put one on, but I doubt it'd fit the dual intakes on my G37xS...

Well then thanks for playing...

But before you go, as a guy who actually does tuning, sensors can be reflashed like ECU's to make your car perform better. No one on this thread claimed any HP gains, I stated performance gains which is a distinct difference...

Oh, I'll still be around. You won't get rid of me that easy! lol

Yes, I definitely know! Dynos don't measure "better throttle response" though... when you tune, you tune the ECU, not any sensors themselves. Of course, you're boosted, so yeah, there's more of a chance for benefits with this thing given your application.

But for n/a people... it's a waste IMO.

And just so we're clear... Chern, you have been great for this forum, with everything you have done to your Max! It is definitely one of my favorite ones! Major props for all you've done for the community!

Sensors can be remapped to tell your ECU different things, like a piggy back computer!

One thing is certain, we cool...

what is it exactly that has a positive effect by the ecu being reset? should i do this after installing a CAI? mine should be here in the morning? will this reset boost results a tad?

Our engines are computer controlled, resetting the ECU will help the car learn the new volume of air coming in from the CAI.

Our cars are pre programmed with stock parameters so slapping in a CAI then turning the car on, the ECU will think something is wrong therefore most cars will throw a Check Engine Light. Resetting the ECU (disconnecting the battery BEFORE install) will ensure it doesn't, or you can wait 4-5 days while the ECU adjusts and the CEL should go out on it's own.

A dynosheet from JET is never ever reliable, we've been dealing with that for over 10 years back in the 4th gen days.

So no definitive dynos yet, or track times? How about MAF sensor airflow log comparisons? AFR data? IPW increases?

I can see if it was entirely new housing similar to this item.

http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/3...n-maf-mod.html < Don’t be fooled by the 4th gen title, the thread goes into a lot more technical depth than just 4th gen, and covers some good bases regarding the function of a MAF sensor.

But, ithe JET is only a sensor, and there’s really not much to a MAF SENSOR without its housing, both functional or otherwise. 0-5v.

Now add a larger housing and maybe it be more believable, but as is, I don’t see anything really changing.

It really is just a re-branded OEM sensor.

excatly what I have been trying to say/state all along , the MAF only works on voltage and I dont see any proof of dyno , it doesnt provide more turblunce or a bigger bore MAF / housing.

everyone is buying into a product and yet I have not seen any real black and white data.

Either way I am glad I will be gettnig rid of the MAF completely with the ProEFI

5.5 Gen MAFs are are different than the 6th gens ...6th gens use the same MAF as Z33's (350z) ITB's, no need for no stinkin MAF!

I just replaced my MAF sensor at Koeppel Nissan and had a 60000 mile service. Now the car isn't shifting right and the service engine soon light is on. I'm like WTF? I have an appointment to take it back tomorrow. Hope they can straighten this out.

Would having this JET MAF sensor interfere with an Osiris Uprev tune or work with it? I'm getting my car dynoed tonite with the JET sensor and then the stock sensor. I was going to send the run files to Osiris with a list of mods to take into consideration in creating map files for the flash such as adjusting the A/F ratio and other things. I read how Chernmax's car had some difficulty getting past 4500. Can this happen to me as well? Thanks

There's absolutely no difference between factory and JET. It's a gimmick. It does not change anythign, it's waste of your dyno money.

I wasn't going to dyno the car to see if I had any gains from the JET MAF sensor. I was just asking if it would interfere with the Osiris Uprev tune. If so, I would put the stock one back on.

JET MAF vs Throttle Amplifier

I personally think this is a better solution that the JET MAF: Sprint Booster.
