I found my stolen max

So for those that know me, Ive been away from the org for a while now. Well, on September of this year, my car was stolen in front of my house. It was found on the 4th of November, the day after my Birthday.

Well, there are no pictures as of now.. I scheduled an appointment on Wednesday to have a geico guy take a look at it. From my perspective, my back bumper has 4 major white marks, paint chipped, my front bumper is scratched up, my oem grill is broken, my fender has a small dent, I think they ran over spray paint because there is Grey paint spray all over the rear fender and part of my right taillight as well as some in the passanger door, and to top things off, my steering wheel is broken. It doesn't move up or down.

Have any of you had their max's or others cars stolen and they found, if so, what did you do? I'm still debating what I'm going to do.

Hey, I thought you were going to tell us your car was seriously damaged. If you have comprehensive coverage on your ins. policy, get it fixed, but have a competent transmission tech. check things out, first, so you can make a claim if you need to. If you don't have ins., get a touch-up specialist recommended by your dealer's used car manager to do the bodywork fairly cheaply. So, get your car fixed, drive it and enjoy it! 'Nuf said!

I would be afraid to keep it. I had a truck stolen once. Never recovered. If it had been, I would have told the insurance company to keep it.

No way I would keep it. Sell it and move on. Who knows where/ what the car was involved in when it was away from you.....if you get my drift.

So my insurance (comprehensive) will take care of all the damages. It looks like it was just a couple of kids who just went on joy ride because it was found just fine.

I will get a tranny expert to take a look at my tranny just to make sure it's intact. I'm going to take to V.O.B. its the repair shop that works with where I bought my car from. They are 100% reliable.

I think after that, I will decide. Although, I'm leaning towards keeping it. I sorta wanted to get headers, and y-pipe. It's already lowered, and has 19's on it. If not, I'll part out all the things I've done to it before selling.

Did you have a aftermarket alarm installed on your Max? With the Vehicle Immobilizer System I can't see how someone stole your vehicle without the key being in the ignition or the thief having access to the key fob.

Why? Because someone else got their cooties all over it and scratched it up a little? Go ahead and sell it lose a few thousand in the process, or else have the interior shampooed and detailed and put a little paint on it.

first thing I would do is claim the transmission is jacked if it is a 5speed auto made from 2003-2006. Then I would have a new alarm installed aftermarket best one of course. then buy a flamethrower kit to be activated from the side of the car when the alarm is activated. should be good after that.

To answer most questions, here's the story

I was at my girlfriend's house. She lives in a condo communion. It was saturday night, and at around 6, I went on a walk with my dog and a pitbull attacked it. I know, wtf!. well the owner of the pit was this young mid 20's guy who wasn't very intellectual, let's just leave it at that. Well, he introduced himself and told me "I'm new to the community, I'm sorry, blah blah" well... at 8, I went to take a shower before going to the gym. Then at around 8:30 I went out and my car wasn't there anymore. I went to knock on every door that I could. One person said that he had heard a car alarm go off for about 5 seconds, then he heard the engine rev. what it must of been the person who stole my car trying to fly out of there before anything happened.

Well, now to answer some of your questions..

Actually, the tranny does look like it's jacked.. I guess they must of mess with the step-tronic or something...

lol.. it may be, but I bought this car for my 18th Birthday, All by myself. I got attached to my max.. so It's really hard to get rid of it.

But, I am going to Geico tomorrow afternoon, to have them check it out, and I will ask for them to check the tranny, the engine, and exhaust and anything else in between. I'm claiming every little bump, scratch, and broken things I see tomorrow. If the tranny goes and they tell me they will give me a cash amount because it's too much to repair, then I'll part ways with my lovely maxima.

if you think you willl feel good driving ur car after it was stolen, keep it, fix it and move on, if not fix it and trade it in or as is, cut ur losses and get something newer or whatever you can afford. Don' lie, at the end it will harm you more. I got my car stolen once "carjacking - young guys with really big GUNS", it was found 8 hrs later cause it had a starter cut off, cheap, cost me $5 bucks to do, you want to steal it, find the sensor first...LOL, they turn the car off to rob somone esle and they ended un walking....LOL. I cleaned the whole car inside, to the way it was before the carjack, trust it was trashed inside in 8 hrs.... I sold it a year later. Good luck...!!!

Those kids that took it for a joy ride did just that....they f'ing beat the **** out of your car. Don't keep but fix it up if you have to keep it and sell it. If you like the car like a lot of us...get a nice used one...like an 06 if you want a regular transmission or 08 if you want the CVT.

So, after looking around, I think there was a 3rd set of keys that I never knew about that were probably left in the glove box because it's absolutely empty... so there's goes that question.. and well, as far as what they took.. I think the main reason for going in my car other than the F#$%#$ing joy right, was to take my GPS system... They also took a gaming console, about $1400 that i was suppose to go deposit... Now the only thing that they could of seen that was out and for everyone to see was the ps3. My gps was inside the arm rest compartment, and the cash was in there too. They took one of my Direct TV boxes for who knows what reasons. I was in the process of moving when this all took place... lucky me...

I think I will end up getting a used 06 max. or a Z...

Damn sounds like they hit the jackpot. I mean 1400 plus ps3 plus direct tv box. You know you can track them by the ps3 or the tv box. if they try to get service on the tv box and if they try and make an account on the ps3. The ps3 has an identity. If you bought it and logged online with it, I would find the reciept and call sony ps3 department and tell them what happened and tell them you can fax proof of purchase, they should be able to find out what ps3 you bought that way and tell them your account name and see if they can track it. More and likely they won't give you the info but a lawyer or policeman/detective could get it. I am pretty sure gieco could help out if they did alot of damage. GL
