A lil' help in installing my Hella Supertone please
This current project is a little bit more labor intensive than I anticipated. When I received the horns, I didn't know that I would be responsible for the mounting hardware. The horns, instructions, and a relay switch are the only things that came in the box. The disc is just to show the size comparison of the horns.
The items that I will need:
The horns are to be mounted front and center of the radiator. With the existing holes located around the radiator frame it was hard for me to position the horns the way I wanted it. I went to Lowe's and Radio Shack and found my various mounting hardware that I needed to start this project.
I found a metal bar at Lowe's that they call a mending brace. It's 10"x1" and it's perfect for the mounting bracket I needed for the Hella's. I also picked up 1/4" nuts, bolts, and washers. The 18 gauge wire I picked up at the dollar store while the connectors was bought at Radio Shack
This is how it will look like mounted on the radiator frame. The horns could have been hanging in an up or down position but this is the position that I liked. I may have to drill an 3/8" hole in the middle of the bracket because if I use the existing holes, the horns will not be centered.
The longer I stared at the red frames of the Hella's the more I hated them. I took the horns apart and color matched the frame with my car. I hit it with the W40-Precision Grey paint that I bought a while back from www.experesspaint.com The shiite came out frakin' beautiful I couldn't believe the the different look that the paint gave to the Hella's. The mounting bar will be painted black
So this is where I'm at. I'm asking all the electronic/audio/video guru's for help. Where is the stock horn located at? Will I be needing anything else? Am I doing it all wrong? All comments, flames, visa, mastercard accepted.

from what I found "118 db" Hella Supertone - they are louder than the stock Maxima horn, relocated to the center would be 'more directed' sound, however - are they weather-proof? I know my grill area gets soaked on rainy days (I'm in Florida with torrential rains).
If it were me - I'd connect them at the stock location (I'd think Nissan put them there for a reason...)
