Quote: My first Maxima was this color except it had dark tinted windows. Wish I still had it as I like that color better than the dark grey I have now. May it rest in peace...

and d#$n the hit and run driver that nailed the drivers side rear and spun my wife into a solid rock wall. Loved the car before...loved it even more after my wife and son were able to just open the doors and walk away after hitting a rock wall at 70mph.

Awesome you've got that many miles on it with so few problems.
Man glad to know that this car is safe just in case i get right in to a wall thanks for sharing.

About to pay your dues man! When you own the 6th gen the tranny is bound to demand attention some day. Hope it's nothing unmanageable, however. Good luck.

'06 Auto 100k . . . . or 04 6Spd 50k
Looking to own one or the other. I've had Auto tranny troubles with both my 91 and 94. My 90 was a 5 Spd and ran/shifted like a champ when I retired it with ~300k miles!

I'm leaning toward the '04, but I'm wondering if the low milage is accurate. All three Max's I've owned the odometers quit on.

134,500 miles and running good, except for that engine noise that comes...but goes away once the engine is hot.
Trying to find out for sure if it is the timing chain or not.

my 04 SE 6spd is at 109K ... was putting 30K a year on it for a while .. the wife drives it now and only puts 10K on it per year. No major issues ... replaced the right drive shaft and stock rim due to abuse from the previous owner. Hearing some noise from the right rear .. suspect a wheel bearing. Engine, trany and clutch still solid.

Not going to lie, I never got to see it hit the 100,000 miles mark. This is my first car...got it when it was at 119,833 miles back in April. Now I currently have 123,865 miles.

I love my Maxima! It's a 2005 SE

Only problems I've had since I've owned it. o2 sensor went back within 3 weeks of having it. Needed a new air conditioner. And now it's in the shop to get a new catalytic converter.

When I get it back, it should be running perfect again. Startups are always great. Car sounds amazing! Still fast Being a college student, I have faith this car will never let me down. Considering I'll be commuting. Hope to make it to 200,000!

Also, for how it runs (which is normally awesome), I was surprised considering it was in an accident in 2007 from the previous owner.

hit 100k a few months back... at 108k now on my 04 maxima

replaced crankshaft position sensor, radiator, fixed a couple of oil leaks, wheel shimmies, headliner has ripped, and there is rust around the skyview window. This is a car that gets a synthetic oil change at 5k, detailed twice a year, and is parked in a heated garage every night (along with timely regular maintenance).

Honestly I expected better out of Nissan. The fact that the car always felt like the wheels were always out of balance took away from the whole $32k new car feeling. The worst is that the dealer knows about this problem and the trany problem and they never did anything about it. I'm going back to the Audi's I used drive before this one. At least they're expected to be money pits, but the Audi dealerships give you white glove treatment even as they're sticking their fist up you know where every time you visit them.

My chick's '04 has 124K on it, and besides the transmission banging, and a power window motor going out, it's been a great car.

I finally just notice this car hit over 100K but the sad part is if i remember correctly after 85k my tranny been slipping and now after 100k its getting worst, thought this maxima could've at least reach close to 200k w/o a problem like my first 95 maxima did over 230 w/o any issues. SMH now i gotta save up for a new tranny.

I'm at 110K and still running strong. Just recently replaced the front right shaft. Car still handles and accelerates with ease. I thought about replacing it this winter, but it is really hard to part away from this car. Plus I don't want to start back with having new car payments...lol. It is an 06, and I am the first and only owner. People still can't believe it is an 06. I still get many compliments on the car.

I must have to oldest 6thgen on here.I drive atleast 90km just to and from work, daily!!!I drag race my car, take it to shows and use it in the winter time. All I can say is by the time i'm ready to give her up i'd get my satisfaction in saying I got my money worth.

Wish I could post a pic but I have no idea how to do it.I'm a **** even though members tried to explain how to do it I can't get it.

Guess I will chime in as Ive been considering selling...bu probably wont as im also considering moving up to a bigger house. Probably will be one or ther other, but at the moment the max has 127,000mi...bought new 8 years ago with 9 miles. No engine or tranny problems ever. Considering putting on autotrader for $10,000 if I go out ang get something else because I know its solid and dont want to get raped at trade in for something I paid $30,000 for.
