Is this worth the hassle?

I found this 2005 Maxima SE for sale for $3699. Roughly how much would it cost to repair? Is it worth the time and hassle to do so?

Nearly 4k for a 5 year old, undriveable car? I wouldn't. I'd either bring the price way down, or scavenge it for parts.

Even if you sold parts individually, you probably wouldn't make the 3699 back.

I would definitely not pay what he's asking for. I'm just running numbers here. Let's say he were to sell it for $3000. My guess is about $5000 for repairs. I think a total of $8000 is decent for a 05 Max. No?

Decent as in non-salvaged title?

Mileage would help too.

The ad says "clean title". The seller didn't post the mileage.

Once you waste all ur money to fix it up. Then you will have to worry about the tranny failing. I bought my car for $32k a couple of years ago. If I could go back I would of bought a old muscle car and fix that up. And I would of not wasted that much.

A car that bashed up would never be the same once fixed.

for a few more thousand you could probably find a used maxima without that damage.

It depends on who's doing the body work and paint. If you can do it, or have a friend in the business that can get you a deal on parts and labor, then it's worth considering. If you're going to pay top dollar for repairs, I don't think it's worth it.

Definately should be a little lower for the car initially. $3000 would be the most you should pay.

No it is definitely not worth it for the price they are asking. And if you are going to spend a couple more thousand to fix it then why even bother. If you look hard enough you can find a used 05 for under 10k. Mileage and condition may vary, but you won't be dealing with something in that shape.

The cost to fix a car as damaged as this one, will come up to the cost of buying one that has never been wrecked before. Besides, do you know the mileage on this car yet? A seller who does not post mileage is more likely concerned about the mileage. So, save your money and get something that has not been wrecked before.

If you can get it down to 2000 maybe. Parts are worth a fortune tho, those wheels if they are clean are worth 200-300 each.

I wouldn't buy it not with that much body damage. However if you were to rip parts for it it would be some work but you could possibly make some profit from it. Its your call, but in my oppinion it is would be a waste of time. "Time is Money"

Well, considering it looks like it needs a core support, radiator, ac condensor, fans, fenders, frame pulling, headlights (which can be pricey, like $500 each if they are HID's.) There is alot more that needs to be done but that's the major stuff that I see.

Plus there is paint and blend time plus R&I time as well.

I say run away unless you can get it for $1000 and just part it out instead.
