Want to Lower My Max.. Done a bit of research.
#41
Ordered the Progress springs last night, anxious to get them on.
I have lowered my Lightning, and my 2000 WS6. The WS6 has the strut/spring combo up front. Are there any tips/tricks to installing lowering springs on a Maxima? I am new to the import thing, but anxious to get the Maxima where I want it both looks and performance wise.

I have no reason to lie dude. The Eibach's did not knock or make any noises at all. I installed them myself, maybe you didn't install them correctly. You can disagree with me all you want, mine didn't knock. KYB GR2 must make a difference because my ride is not bouncy at all with Progress. I was actually confused to the peoples claims when I installed them and was waiting to bounce and never did.

Last year I put Eibachs on my 2002 with KYB shocks. The handling improved greatly and the ride was stiffer but not unbearable. Actually, when I took my wife out she didn't even notice the difference in ride, for whatever that's worth...

Progress----- 1.8" front, .75" rear
H&R--------- 1.4" front, 1.3" rear.
Tein S-Tech -1.6” Front, .5” Rear Spring Rate: F(196 lbs), R(302 lbs)
Intrax--------2.2" front, 1.5" rear (never seen them)
CM---------- 1.75" front, 1" rear (never heard of them)

i didnt drop my car yet, but i've done a good amount of research myself and from what i've gathered, its best to just go with coilovers. adjustable settings, all in one piece, and rides better than the spring/struct set up. thats what i've gotten so far and it does make sense. thats what im gonna go with when im ready to drop the car

That being said, I just got my GR-2's today. I've got a total invested of $320 for shocks/struts/springs. Not bad at all!
