Just had to share...

There's traffic, blocking the way home.
Zig, and zag, trying to find open space to breathe.
I spot it, an open lane to the left.
I work my way over to it.
Wait for it.... wait for it.
It opens and I slide into it.
Drop the trans into 3rd.
Listen to the VQ growl.
Feel my head pushed back.
A smile widens on my face.
Ahhhh..... Maxima.

C'mon it doesn't purr at the redline. After @ 6 years I still love this car. And I would love to write Nissan commercials but I would need to drive the product for a while to get inspired. Do you think that they would let me borrow the GT-R for awhile?

Kind doubt it. Heck the only way I got to sit in one was to tell the dealer I'm not signing on the line for that Max until I get to sit in the GT-R. Tried for the keys, but apparently they could tell I was broke.

For a new one, yes. I bought mine used for a pretty good deal.

I know what you mean but in my case I drop the auto trans in to 2nd...(lots of mods) LOL!
My car will do up to 70 MPH in 2nd before shifting to third...the 0 - 60 has improved by a huge amount by not having to do the "extra" shift...plus now when I'm taking corners I can drop it to second...there is this cool curved tunnel in Montreal of the 20 that leads to the 13 north...ah ah ah....I just love the sound (grin)!

I'm going to the International Car Show next week up here in Montreal...so yesterday I was in our local magazine store checking the "NEW 2011 CARS" magazine....and Top Gear gave the new Subaru 4 door WRX STI only 11/20 which is barely a passing grade! That was about the only other car that I was will to consider for a trade. There are BMW 3 series coupes and also Audi A5s but they don't do well in winter even with the all wheel drive and x drive....There's something about Montreal winters that brings out the worst in a car! I asked a CAA (Canadian AAA) tow truck operator what he sees' most on the side of the road "dead" and they are Audi and BMW...go figure. Now I found out that you can buy a second hand Nissan GTR for under $47 USD! Oh man...But I would still keep my car for winters, rainy days and for cruising too! Dreaming out loud! You never know.....But I can also say this...you can take your ugly Ford Taurus....Cheaply made Hyundai Sonata....as sharp looking as it is & the unreliable Mazda 6....and anything else for that matter and nothing in a 4 door sedan (except maybe an Infiniti G37) looks as good...OK so maybe a Maserati Quotroporte, or Jaguar XF or AUDI A7 (Not sold in Canada) or Aston Martin Rapide...are really cool looking too but then again my Max didn't cost me a bank either. Point is my 4 door sedan will blow the doors off of many 2 door coupes and even sports cars and it is nice to drive...even after 6 years! SO there!

True, I don't do it often and believe or not it doesn't come close to red lining when I do it...But some fun sometimes is cool...I like third gear at 70 mph in tunnels too! LOL!

OK so I said too much now....

Fantastic, thanks for sharing- is your timing chain growling metal to metal against the timing cover yet?

KC: Good One! LOL!

Not at all
Like I said I don't redline it and I don't floor it. I'm mostly a highway cruiser...and I don't push her often...just enough for the grin on my face to appear after I hear the sounds: The Car is a bit of a sleeper....
