i gotta change out my radiator on my 04 nissan maxima se 5sp AT, i know, it sucks. for some reason, ive seen that the radiator is different from 4sp AT and 5sp AT, and of course the 6sp.
question is, are the defferences absolutely necessary? cant i just use the 4sp rad. has anyone had to change theres out and had to get the specific 5sp AT one?

Not 100% sure but the difference may be on the transmission fluid cooler, if its for a manual trans, it will not have one, and the 4-speed auto and the 5 speed auto will have one, but may have different fluid in and out fittings.

Get a Mishimoto aluminum radiator and only use a coolant and DISTILLED water mixture and you probably won't ever have a problem again.

this car is going to be sold pretty soon as to the tranny issues, its just not worth it anymore, its a beautiful car, but im just lookin for a radiator for it so it can be gone. ive done one on my 4th gen without many problems, just weird that there are so many differences in the raditors for the 6th gen

well there are 3 different trannys... have you seen the fixes for the tranny? up to you if it is cheaper and worth it compared to a whole other car.
