MAGNAFLOW 14805 MUFFLERS- MAGNAFLOW 12640 RESONATOR=FAILLLLL
I'm sorry bud, EVEN with that second resonator it gargles back at you and sounds kinda crappy. I wish I knew what went wrong. I will record mine when on the highway with my iphone for a comparison. But it still doesn't sound right at all. Sooo strange....
If you wanna sell your magnaflow mufflers, Let me know I would be interested.
Yea, I hear you, I remember you saying earlier you want the same. I'm still going to get it up tonight hopefully. I have a subwoofer at my home setup so don't know how accurate it will sound here with no sub. Anytime ANYONE listens to ANY exhaust you need a good speaker setup with a good sub or it is pointless!

OK, after a little bit of a wait here are two short videos of the Magnaflow setup I have. Again, I have the MAG 12640 Resonator as well as the MAG 14805 mufflers. I just wish I knew what was wrong with OP's even with TWO resonators! It still does not sound right on his car, but I'm thankfully happy with mine! I still hope you figure it out bud, I can understand the frustration! Anyway, here they are....

I had another Magnaflow steel-packed muffler installed between the cats and the resonator, then I Dynomatted the whole interior and trunk, paying close attention to under the back seat (double layered). This not only decreased the amount of road noise the Maxima has, but took out about 70% of the drone you're talking about. The exhaust tone is awesome, and as my teenage son says, "it's a good loud"

I also purchased the Ebay system, and although it is a bit loud, you can reattach the old resonator, as that is where the noise is coming from. You just need to cut the old tube short of the "Y", and reattach new system to that, w/ use of "u" clamps. I cheated, and went to a muffler shop that sold Magnaflow, and they put in a steel-pack Magnaflow muffler in-line between the cats, and the new resonator. Also, some of the sound you hear comes from the thin metal tips the Ebay system comes with, as they create a "bell" effect, which is a ringing which resonates t/o the car.

thanks man but i was getting so much drone so now in back to oem, with magnaflow mufflers. wish there was somethign similar to oem resonator but no drone lol. i was thinking about installing dual resonator on facotry pipes. idk if thats gonna change the drone. or even if its possible.
I know the sound of a 3.5 w/ good exhaust is an amazing thing, but if the drone is that much, it's not really worth it. But, if you still want a nice look, I would just put on new tips. I love the look of quad tips, but didn't much care for the stock ones. Magnaflow makes some awesome looking tips, check it out.
you can't have that volume exhaust without drone. not unless you tear out all the carpet and dynomat the entire shell of your car. and insulate the piping with a turbo diaper.
keeping a stock resonator keeps the car too quiet. just changes the tone. so you have to choose.
or you can instal a cutoff valve and choose when you want your car loud or quiet.
lastly, you have a cvt. people with gears can play around to avoid those droning rpms.
unfortunatly you can't do anything to stop it. other than getting a new resonator and trying again.

Are you sure that resonator is the correct 27" long body, with a 6" round shell?????? 12460 is a beast and the bigger the muffler the quieter the car! You might wanna crawl under it and see if you have an exhasut leak and that the resonator and muffler are what you paid for.....
That's not true!!!
