Not my cup of tea but if you painted the top of the trunk too, you can now set stuff on the trunk lid without the fear of it scratching the paint.

Excuse my ignorance, but what did you plastadip? The license plate surround? I've never used this product myself...I have a '95, would this prolong the rubber stripping on the roof, or just covers it with a new finish?

I think you may be on to something. Could be the first guy to plastidip your trunk. You should take it a step further and plastidip the whole car.

Kind of defeats the purpose when there's a chrome emblems watching you in the face. Try plasti-dipping the emblems and all the chrome and you'll really see a difference...

I give those guys credit. Various videos/posts say it holds up 1-3 years looking good, but the beauty is that it's really easy to do it again.

Check out the M3, and the detail on the headlights, mirrors, M3 logo, the smoked tail lights (also plasti-dipped) etc.

I'm pretty tempted to try this one day.

It holds up to powerwashing and car washes (though they recommend a gentler approach), and they have metallic and gloss finishes to go on top of the colors for effects.

I imagine that using an application clear on the hood would make a great stone/chip protector.

It most certainly does NOT hold up against drive through car washes...

a power washer?! no... a power washer is how you take plastidip OFF.

maintaining plastidip on your car is like fitting braces on a great white. Its not worth it.
