'04 Maxima Dies Instantly on Cold Start! Help!
All,
I did a little bit of research on this myself, but i figured i would start a post because i'm getting conflicting options. Here's the deal, if the car sits overnight (it is cold here now in Chicago) and i go to start it in the morning, it will start and die immediately. When this used to happen it would just start, drop the idle real low (400-500) and eventually kick up to 1800 (cold idle) after a few seconds. Today it took me 3 tries to get the car running. This used to only happen once in a while, but not it seems to be happening more often than not. Please help. Car is properly maintained with new OEM plugs, new OEM coil packs, new pcv, new coolant, new brake fluid, synthetic oil, clean air filter, etc so i don't think it's a maintence issue.
From what i've been reading i see possible causes being coolant sensor, fuel pressure regulator, IACV or crank sensors. Some of these are expensive so I'd like to hear if anyone has had this exact problem on this generation of the maxima.
Thanks!
