You are going to need a bypass module because our keys are chipped. There are two different kinds you can use. The expensive one can mimic your key, the other one you place your key inside of it. I personally like the one where you place your key inside of it. If you are ever in a situation where your keys are stolen, lost, misplaced, fall out of your pocket into the river out in the middle of nowhere no cell service and 30 miles from the nearest road (yup, it happened) you could always have AAA pop open your door and you can still get home, Or do like me and use a dried out black berry bush branch through your sun roof lol

Honestly I would not cheap out on this buy. Avital is the mexican version of Viper or Python. You wouldn't know it but these things are not fool proof and guaranteed to always work. Even Viper has problems here and there. The last thing you want to happen is you get to your car in the parking lot and your alarm doesn't disarm and you are stuck with a hand full of groceries and a locked car.

Second do you have any idea what it takes to instal this device? If you have never done it, and you aren't an electrician or other trade skill worthy you are in for one hell of a surprise. It took me the better half of the day staring at wiring diagrams and calling viper to do this and I consider myself pretty decent at electrical work. I couldn't find the picture of my maxima but a quick google search pulls up a very identical picture to mine.

Now that being said, the remote start and alarm system is one the my favorite mods. Having that viper sticker on my window has saved my car from 3 break in where the whole string of cars in my garage was hit and mine skipped over. Robbers know the name viper and its worth the extra $$$. Second the remote start is awesome in hot and cold weather. Its also always really cool to just be able to start your car and watch it come to life in front of you.

This is a mod I would suggest everyone do, but don't cheap out. If you can't afford a professional install, then get on craigslist and search for a certified alarm installer who is making some extra cash on the side installing these things in their garage. There should be plenty of them, there are in California at least.

That picture its the wrong way to install a remote start. That is crazy messy. T-taps are a no no too.

Pre wire should be done on the bench and needed wires taped up. Makes the install way cleaner and organized.

When all said and done you may only need 15 wires.
