Yet another Key Fob Mystery

Yet another Key Fob Mystery
So here it is. My car sat a while when I was driving my Z around and the battery died. Swapped it with a new one and noticed my Aftermarket alarm key fob range went to crap along with the ability to lock the door pretty much went away. I read online it had to do with a battery in the module. So me being busy and what not decided to leave it alone and use the stock alarm system and key fobs. They worked fine for about a month then the distance started getting really crappy like 20' to 10' now I have to be next to the drivers side door to lock and unlock the car. Almost inside the car lol. Anyone know what could be causing this or had this happen to them? I am thinking it might be related to the aftermarket alarm issue. Troubleshooting that this coming week when weather permits.

The keyfob uses one of the wires in the rear window as an antenna. Just like the radio antenna, the signal goes to the antenna amplifier module in the right side C pillar.
Maybe the connections to the amplifier are getting corroded. If you you put stuff up in the rear window area, you may have nicked/cut the antenna wire.
