Evap crap

O6 kept throwing p0420 code and rolling coal when I would put my foot in it.Turns out the hoses were backwards and it was pulling gas from the evap canister.Today put my foot in it no smoke.Codes are reset but only 12. miles since clearing.Car runs like a bat out of hell now.Could this hose mix up be responsible for p0420.I bought her at an auction.152,000 miles Black se.Had a burnt up ac control module when I got it.My fuel trims are changing going negative instead of positives.Cranks better idles even better.Just wondering if someone else had this problem.

Evap

I know what the code is.Ivwanted to know if by the hoses being backwards on the evap solenoid .would that have pulled frome evap canister into the intake causing rich condition.Thats un metered air also. Thus creating the p0420 code the cat couldn't keep up.Which all this I believe created lean condition data which ecu brought up fuel trim to compensate Creating RICH cond.

to be honest these cars are known for failed cats cause they used a special coating on the cats that eventually weaken cylinder walls. my advise is to buy the 2 manifold cats buy them as a free flowing style magnaflow sells them and the one in the very back at the y pipe, hollow it out. it wont trigger a engine light as theres no oxygen sensor behind it to monitor it

Yes sir

I already deleted the third cat and resonator.I am aware of the argument over precat failure.I was saving to replace valve cover also.while I was at it.Also intake gasket.I have a three page carfax on the car.New trans in 2015,radiator, fuel rail , injectors.ac compressor, battery.and cv axles.I have done the drain and fill twice on the trans 120 worth of fluid.K magic.Steering rack bushings.painted wheels black with spike lugs 4 brand new 18 inch tires.painted grill black.I absolutely take care of her.6gen is hated on but I think there nice. The 5 speed shifts like butter.but putting those hoses how they were supposed to go has definitely helped it.Ive been 80 miles still no code no black smoke. So we shall see.
