Trip Info Display Units

My son just got a 2007 SE without navigation (amber display). Everything works, but I can't seem to find where to change the unit of measurement on the Trip Info display. Vehicle has odometer in miles, but the Trip Info displays DTE in km, AVG Speed in km/h, AVG Fuel Econ in L/100 km. Where do I change this from metric to imperial?

The manual covers how to change this if you have navigation, but not without.

No one else has run into this issue? Am I missing something?

If you haven't figured it out yet, there's a button with "E/M" on it that converts from imperial to metric, and vice versa. It's right below the trip reset button. At least on my 04

I did some quick research and it seems that without the navigation package, you have to hook it up to a computer to change it. Unless there is a way to access settings in the later maxs, it's time to learn metric!
