fuel needle
fuel needle
recently took my car to the mechanic .When i picked it up i noticed that my fuel gauge needle was on the wrong side of the post on the empty side. its as if it the needle did a full rotation and came to a stop at the wrong side of the post or whatever its called. i can see the needle jerk when i turn the key but it has no where to go because of the post. does anyone have an ideas on what might have happened to it. the guys at the shop wont admit fault. they were replacing my rear valve cover which they say had a leak. they called me to pick it up saying it was ready but when i got there they said they were sorry and asked me if the car had been missing and i told him i hadnt noticed so anyway they had my car 4 extra days. when i picked it up the gas needle was as i stated above and the car was missing AND it still has an oil leak...
As for the awry fuel gauge needle, it's not new, though not common. This should help.
