Need help. New here
Engine pinging, no ambient sensor, ABS Slip & TCS Off lights stay on. First let me apologize if I'm posting/asking in wrong thread. I'm new to this type of thing. Here's the deal, I bought a 2006 maxima SE that had been neglected. I knew it needed some work but didn't know exactly how much. I've already replaced the high pressure power steering line and all 4 mounts. The 2 electronic mounts had been cut so I had to splice the new ones and hope I got the wiring correct since the colors didn't match. The ABS, slip and TCS off lights didn't come on until I changed the 3 motor mounts and 1 transaxle mount. I may have knocked a connector loose. Not sure. So here's where I'm at now. Starting to feel overwhelmed with all the problems I'm running into so I'm going to concentrate on what I feel is the easiest thing to fix. Ambient temperature sensor. The reading that I'm getting on the display is -22°. Being in South Louisiana I'm pretty sure that's not right. Tried to find sensor but all I've found was a black with yellow stripe wire hanging loose about 6" from left cornering light. Guessing the sensor was ripped off. Bought a new one to wire it in but don't know where to go with the other prong on the sensor. Pretty sure the bk/y is ground but don't see any other loose wires. Thanks ahead of time with any help given.
ATC - AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONER.pdf is the file you want for the service manual. Go to page: 91
Also, sort out the pinging. You're gonna damage the engine if you do not rectify that.
Guess I should of mentioned that I've printed out over 700 pages from the repair manual and yes the ATC section accounts for 132 of them. What I was really wanting to know is where or what harness would the other wire be. I wouldn't think it was ripped out all the way from the dash at the unified meter and A/C amp and what color wire should I be looking for? Really don't want to tear into dash but suppose I have to so I can try to follow it towards the front bumper. I agree about the pinging BTW. I've changed the oil and it helped but didn't stop it all the way. The person I bought it from said he changed the timing chain and that's the area the sound is coming from. Probably going to pull the cover off to get a better idea of what's going on.
