Hello I've recently found my perfectly running 08 maxima not starting as one day no hesitation as to indicate fuel pump problems ,as i stated ran perfectly shut the car off and when i went to start it would just crank but not fire .20 or 30 min later fired right up as if noting wrong . then as soon as my vey next stop and cut the car off it had not ran since . now i have all new sensors cps, cas, tps. as the web lead me to hat being most likely cause fuel pump sounds when ignition key turned forward have 12 .3 volts from battery as it sits. now initially i did try to remove and clean original cps. and when i plugged everything back up i did get a start and running but after shut down nothing just cranks. that happened twice in all before replacing all sensors now still all cranking but no start...
You will have to start ruling stuff out:
-If you have not already, try starting the engine with the key in the ignition. If that works, the key-fob battery is on its way out or the key-fob has an issue. Also, check with your second key-fob, too.
-Check your battery cables (clean/secure). Considering its an 08, I would check the negative cable and its connection to the CVT and the body; it may be corroded. Unfortunately, you have to pull the battery tray out to inspect/service those ground connections.
-Check for critters (mice/squirrels/rats) chewing on wires in the engine bay.
-Fuel pressure may be an issue, though you'll have to take it to a shop to test it since our model does not have test fuel port.
