Hello everyone. So I have a 08 maxima SE and my side mirrors are not working properly. When I reverse the drivers side goes down but doesn’t always come up or just driving it will move on it’s own up like it’s stuck on that position like it’s the motor but I had the regulator for the window replaced.., but don’t think that controls that. The passenger side mirror doesn’t move at all. Is it electrical or what? Please help

 

Your mirror motors are the problem. I have a 2010 and I've had to replace my mirrors at least twice over the years, the most recent time was just 3 months ago. I bought a junk yard mirror for less than $20 but you're taking a chance buying them because those parts are just as old as the parts you need to replace. The good news is that you can buy brand new mirrors off eBay for a decent price, and they're just plug and play. Good luck.

 

On my 2008 Max the passenger mirror does not move down only the one on the driver side.

 

I have to ask because it's not stated in your message. Did you switch the ****/lever on the driver's side to adjust the passenger mirror?

 

I learned something new about this car every day. You are correct. Only one mirror, as selected, will turn downward in R. This car was my wives' until 2020 when I traded my 2003 Maxima for a CRV, for her, and I inherited her 2008 Maxima.
