Maxima IPod Interface Cable. where to get replacement cable???
2009 Maxima ipod quest
my aux harness was working fine for a month, and not all of a sudden does not. i connect to the harness, i hear a beeping noise and an error message "the currently attached accessory is not compatible w this ipod". any idea whats going on? dealership says its the ipod, but im not sure if i believe them since it worked fine for 2 months. any thoughts?
My iPod screen says Nissan when I hook it up to the USB.
The down fall to connecting it to the RCA's is that the iPod will not charge nor control it from the steering controls/head unit.
My question is...Is the iPod harness cable worth it? What extra functionality (if any) does it give you?
I never even realized I had this port under the USB port in the center console. I normally would just use the USB port with a normal apple charge/sync cable when I wanted to listen to music on it. They never said anything to me at the dealer about the extra cable needed.

IMHO the cable is not worth it.
My '09 cable is in my center console, but I won't use it much.
It won't charge my iPhone 4S, which is useless.
So I just use an auto-charger, and then use a 3.5mm cable to play music to the stereo.
The newer '10 '11 or even '12 might have bluetooth streaming, which would make the cable even more irrelevant. My '09 does not have bluetooth streaming...
So save your money on the cable.

I have the cold & tech package on my '09...so even if I had the '11, I wouldn't have BT streaming unless I get Nav... meh...
Nope. The main thing for me was I just had to get rid of that orange analog looking screen. That and the panoramic roof of course, haha
I have seen a thread in here though about some Blackberry BT base that they just store in the center console that the phone can connect to and through that play the music over BT.

That's why I got the SV with the panoramic roof & the more interactive LCD screen. Oh and I wanted the back up camera too - it comes in handy!!!
2009 Maxima IPOD Cable
This is the correct IPOD cable you can order from any Nissan Dealer for 2009 Nissan Maxima with premium and tech package. It plugs in the center console and then into you IPOD. Part # 284H2-9N00A. I purchased one from my Nissan dealer and can tell you for a fact it is the correct cable. If you have the screen/navagation system you can use the touch screen to select your songs from the IPOD, just push the AUX button on the radio for it to work. .
http://www.g35parts.com/SearchResult...ch=284h2-9n00a, you can also order from this dealer last I knew they had one in stock. They are Infinity and Nissan dealer.
I called the maxima dealer asking to purchase another ipod interface cable. The guy from the part department tell me that maxima did not make the part/cable for it. Can anyone tell me is that true? I cannot the interface cable replace if I lost it or it gets damage?
Can some one confirm and if anyone know the part number for that interface cable?

I am the proud owner of a 2012 Maxima SV. Unfortunately my car did not have the interface cable which was fine because my apple charging / sync cable thats came with my phone ipod the white one runs iPod touch 32 gb 3rd generation and my iPhone 4 as well through the interface just plugging into my USB in the centre console. Apparently the only time you need that cable is when you want to stream video. To play songs through the interface while driving you don't need the Nissan interface cable.
The cable the OP speaks of was needed for the 2009 Maxima as they have no ability to stream music across bluetooth, and they did not have a USB connection. When the 2010+ came out this cable was no longer needed, as USB was now a new option in the cars.
As was incorrectly mentioned in the above post, that cable does not have the ability to stream video from an Idevice to the vehicle's head unit.
...And again it is required for the the 2009 owners if they want to play music from their idevice into the head unit.
Please research your statements before you post, this helps to keep the confusion down on this multifaceted subject.

I've often wondered why on earth manufacturers felt compelled to use their own interfaces when USB is the standard here on planet earth. Do they really need to squeeze customers for a few bucks at a time? Seems cheap to me.
My 2013 Maxima SV Sport Tech thankfully came with a plain old USB jack, as all cars should, so no special cable is necessary. I use it to plug in my iPhone 5 (lightening connector) and a different cable for my iPad/iPod.

I bought my 09 used last weekend and once I got home I figured out that the ipod cable was not in the center console. I ordered this part 999-U7VS005 from Courtesy Nissan and it is not the correct cable. I am having no luck finding the actual part number. I have called several dealers and none list an ipod cable
.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
