HID/Headlight/Foglight combo thread.
Hmmm i bought 6,000k buks i. D2r and they fit and work hahah... I just purchased 20,000k bulbs for my fogs so i was wonderig if i could put a new ballast and stuff ( like my fogs) in the low beams... And i belive they are less bright because of that lens in front of the light
i tried to call them, but no answer, so i emailed instead. If they cant send the other part, i might as well send it back and just order the one from vme as i originally planned. The only reason i didnt is cause i was inpatient and didnt wanna wait the 20 days they said it would take to ship out. the other issue is, the next time i get into the wheel well, i wanna do the headlights, install fogs, and install HID into them at the same time (lazy so i dont have to go into the wells again. lol)
Mine came shipped to me like that as well. I couldn't figure it out and got frustrated, so I threw everything away. On top of that it took like 3 weeks to get them. Everyone used to rave about DDM but I can't stand them. Good luck returning something with 3 week turn around times
i purchased these led turn signals from ijdmtoy https://store.ijdmtoy.com/ProductDet...56_3157_SKU204
and for some reason they keep blowing the fuse... if i instlal a load ressitor will it stop the fuse from blowing?

So i got the H11 10k Hid kit for my fogs today. Got them from the Ijdm toy store. Guna go pick up a friend and install them in a while. Wish us luck, ive been reading up and it looks like were going underneath the car. I might take pics of the install. Hope we can do it up right

Well i lagged it on the putting on the fog lights but i did it today. It was a little difficult @ first but i knew i could do it. Mounting the ballast was difficult and so was putting in the bulb back in snug. Came out looking great but now i think my headlights need to match.
Stock Fog light Vs 10k Hid Fogs

It got dark out real quick lol

Yeah i have no Hids on the headlights. Its a SV and i agree that they are yellow. I might change em out to 6k but we shall see how these look. I have not driven around @ night either so i'll see how my vision is with them.
yea, i dont know how i would like it up north. that whole changing tires for winter is crazy weird for me. lol
Okay I got my Maxima 3.5 SV used so I am not sure if I have xenon/ HIDs how can I tell if I do bc the reason I ask is I dont feel like my low beam light is the yellow tinge at all as I have seen before... thanks for your help
I thought that you had to have the Premium or Sport package to have them that is why I am questioning this. I feel like a moron asking it... If I cant figure this out I'll just call up a Nissan dealer and give them the VIN to see
Yeah that is my understanding it's just the way they look to me is whiter than yellow even standing away from them and looking at them... thats my wonder. I test drove one that was premium package but didnt really like the color it was red and that one had xenons but they were pretty blue output wise
09-11 Maxima HID's
The 09-11 Maxima's that have HID's are SV models with Sport, Premium, or Technology packages. HID's were not an option for the S model for those years
A lot of people mount them on the bar near the fenders but I made a custom bracket for mine and mounted them under the headlights where the factory ballast would go. I made sure it looked clean and factory since my Max is still under warranty.

guys, can anyone tell me how to change the fog light please ? I would like to change my halogen to match the hid... it might have discussed but there are almost 19 pages in this thread.. any help is appreciated
Got ya sounds good... DId you happen to install a Relay when you did it?
I want all the lights on the front of my car to look like my xenon low beams. So if i want any kind of xenon white blue purple whatever light for my HIGH beams and FOGLAMPS do i just need bulbs or do i need a whole conversion kit type of thing?
Why I chose HID over Halogen...
I've included a couple of pics to show the difference between HID...
....the 1st pic shows a standard Halogen illumination on the left with the brighter HID on the right. Bulb was ~ 4300K kit choice.
The 2nd pic has both MTEC HID bulbs in place. The MTEC kit was 100% plug and play and designed for MBs with an integral resistor in their digital ballast,..and I can always go back to the OE halogen if I had not been satisfied. (no dash warnings with this kit)
Maybe it's a question of age and diminished night vision, but I prefer the better bright light when night driving. Others here have stated that they prefer a less white softer night lighting. At the dinner table I prefer a soft light,..but on the road at night, I love the extra and bright illumination offered by the HIDs.
Without the standard OE halogens, I found that I was looking more to the right and left and straining to see if their was an animal waiting to jump out in front of us. It happens quite a bit up here. The HID illuminates further and brighter into the ditches and much brighter on the road also. I now spend more time looking down the road knowing that I have the sides better illuminated and therefore less time trying to see if I missed something. I find it a big asset for my rural driving,.. but less important for urban use.
