I was thinking it could be because of the projector headlamps. I have read other articles for years that projector headlamps can be problematic when using different types of bulbs.

Anyone have any xperience with these? I do like the way the Crystal Visions turned out. I might use those in my headlamps if I end up changing. I will have pics later tonight.
What temp bulbs did you get for your low beams? I put 8000k on mine and it is alot dimmer than the ones that came on it stock which was 4300K. The projectors in the maxi-ma make the 8000ks dimmer than the halogen headlights i had in my impala with an 8000k hod kit on.

Im currently looking into 6000k or 5500k (if i can find them) for my next sett up.

They are 4300K. I was thinking of trying Phillips Clearvision after some night driving.

recommendations on matching color high beams for both the 6000k and 5000k HID lamps?

I have the 6000k in my Max and the 5000K in the wife's Edge. Bought the top of the line sylvania silverstars and they are bright but don't match my 6000k's at all.

I think this is as good a place as any to post this. I recently changes my stock fog bulbs out for nokya yellow halogens. I wanted to try these first before investing the $ on HIDs. I like how they look. I followed video instructions found through a google search. I did not remove the wheel.

I did the first bulb (driver's side) this way and found I could create enough room to get my hand/arm in there. When I went to do that passenger side bulb, my arm was getting pinched and I did not have as much room behind the bumper cover because of the windshield wash fluid reservoir.

I instead removed the clips on the bottom of the bumper, peeled back the plastic, and reached up right behind the bulb to remove it. I hadn't seen this done or mentioned on here before.

fire those of you that don't want to remove your wheel to change fog bulbs, I would recommend this methods. note that you still have to remove the clip inn each wheel well and the 3 screws on the bottom of the bumper near the wheel.

I am replacing the Halogen low beam bulbs on my '10 S with HIDs. Should I get a wiring harness that includes Can-Bus support? Is that needed on a '10 Maxima or should I just go with standard relays?

Thanx.

To me, on our cars, it looks "ugly" to have the factory HID's with halogen fog lights, so I will be changing them out to HID. My issue is that I can't decide on which color to get. From the posts it seems the factory HID bulbs are 4300K which I am happy with. I would like the fog lights to match, so should I get the 4300K or 6000K?

From the color charts, it appears as though the 4300K has a yellow tint but mine seem more white than yellow? Anyone have any pics of factory HID's with 4300K or 6000K fog lights?

Even though the stock HIDs are 4300k, what gives them the slight blueish color are the projectors. Since the the fog lights have reflectors, you'd need 5000k to 6000k for them to match.

No freakin way! Ever seen a 7th Gen coming up in your rearview with lights blazing???

Thing looks like a friggin BEAST!

I think the halogen fogs actually over emphasizes the HIDs. And I absolutely love the placement of the fogs ... just inside the headlights. Definitely contributes to the sporty/aggressive styling of the Max.

Haha, I agree with you about styling and placement, but I think the halogens take away from the HIDs. I could turn them off, lol.

I'm looking into getting this kit:

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Projector-H...ctor_sku76.htm

Since its "universal", I'm looking for input from people who've opened up the front bumper underneath. Do you think those brackets will install pretty easily? I'm sure I'll have to drill, but I haven't seen that part of the car yet and I'd like to know what to expect.

When changing to HID's in the fog lights, do you lose brightness compared to stock since they are not projector style?

That all depends, if you stay within the 3000k (yellow) 4300k (Brightest) - 6000k (Border line blue) it will still be pretty good. Going to 8000k will look extremely bright but visibility will be shot.

What is the best set of aftermarket HIDs to get these days? I haven't bought any since around 2009, and am in need of a new set. Looking for 4300K or 5000K in H11. Whats good these days? I don't care about price. Is there anything besides the Chinese kits on eBay?

I have fog lights that I had never mounted on my 6th gen and I believe they were H11 with the ballasts. they came off of a 6.5 gen. Would those work in my 7th gen Max?

Wow. Those are gonna sear some retinas! Very nice. I have stock HID headlights and would like to do a simple upgrade (bulb change) to my fogs. Any recommendations?

I find that my stock HIDs have a sharp drop off. I realize that's a function of the reflectors and not the bulbs but do the brighter bulbs help with that? The length of the beam seems a bit short to me. The HIDs in my 5th gen seemed to light up the world.

Just finished my Ford Fusion projector fog light retrofit. Now I've got color flicker on my fogs too
Running 5000K Osram CBI bulbs for my low beams and 4300K Morimoto XB35 bulbs for my fog lights. I can say that driving at night is a true pleasure.

I highly don't recommended it b/c you will have issues down the road from your headlight harness wires being worn from the strain of starting those 55w ballasts.
