HID/Headlight/Foglight combo thread.
I have a 2010 Sport SV with Xenon. I replaced the D2S,High beam and Fogs. The Xenons are Philips Ultinon 6000K with Philips Diamond Vision H11 5000K fogs. The high beams are now Philips Diamond Vision HB3/9005 5000K. I found auto lamps-online.com for the 9005 and H11 and they are in the UK. The Philips they sell are all made in Germany not Canada or Mexico. The D2S I bought were marked not for use in the United States and those came from highperformancebulbs.com. Check out the site from the UK for the Diamond Visions as I have used them for over 10 years and have never had a problem. The package shows up in 7-10 days and I usually have to go to the Post Office to sign for it unless your home for the delivery. I have pictures to post and soon I figure out how to post. All the bulbs match up as white and with the brights on they light up the road like it's daytime. And they all are level and adjusted as they were when I started. No drilling or wiring. I did take the wheels off and took down the liners. That took a couple hours including the wheels. They all cost about 280 and are plug and play with what is already there and make a huge difference from what I started with.
did u order it from them yet? installed? i still can't find "instructions" on how to DIY to install HID for low beams (step by step pictures/video).
Took me 45 minutes from start to finish and that time included putting the car on a lift and removing front wheels and inner wheel wells. No instructions needed, it's all plug n play.
Yea it's really really easy you don't need a video or pictures. You need a flat head and a flashlight. Take off the wheel or turn it all the way to exposed the front of the wheel well. Take off the push clips holding in the lining. Pull back the lining. Plug everything in and mount the ballast to the metal tab that originally held the lining in towards the ground, using zip ties. Re assemble
Havent ordered them yet I had to get my appendix taken out 2 weeks ago (no fun at all) so I have been recovering from that. I'll order them in a month or so and install. Also have thought about going with the Phillips kit on phillipsxenon.com
I didn't bother to read all 19 pages of conversation. My question is, is it possible to switch my current HID Factory Bulbs for Different ones? I am assuming you can, but I need a definite answer before I change out the bulbs.
As for Fogs, private message me and I'll walk you through the process of changing the bulbs out. It is rather simple.

D2S is the size, I went 8k and will be switching to 6k. I like the blue of the 8ks but the visibility isnt the best. 6K will give you a white with a bluish hint and better visiblity.
Ok, so i have literally read every single post on all 19 pages and I have a pretty good idea of what i want to get. Just to make sure though i have 2010 Nissan Maxima Sport with HID headlights already. So i know if i wanted to change the Kelvins from 4300 too 6000 i would have to get a D2S bulb and then for the fogs get an H11 HID conversion kit with a 6000k bulb. What concerns me is people on here say to get the kit and bulb from DDM Tuning which would only cost me $55 plus shipping. The same setup from o-nex.com would cost me somewhere around $200 bucks. Is there going to be a significant difference in the quality and look??I am willing to pay whatever it takes for the best but also don't want to get ripped off. Please take a couple seconds out of your day and let me know how you feel about this. I have a cart set up on both sites with what i want. I just need to know which one to pull the trigger on...Thanks in advance.
Head lights look sick man, Decided to pull the trigger and order the headlights and the fog light HID conversion kit for DDM, Called there shop in Huntington Beach, California and was lucky enough to get the owner on the phone and he made it so my order is going to be shipped from there instead of China so I should have it sometime next week
Pretty excited. So far really happy with the service from DDM, will update on how the install went and how the headlights and foglights look after words. Thanks again man!

Installation of Xenon Depot 4300K Xtreme HID kit with pictures part 1
Below are the steps I took to install the Xenon Depot 4300K Xtreme HID kit from Kbcarstuff.com
http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Xtreme-Dig...s-p/xt-hid.htm
INSTALLATION:
*This is the way I installed my HID kit. There are other ways of installing the kit as well. I will not be held accountable for any damage that may be done to your car as you are installing your HID kit.
Tools and Items Needed:
• Flat head
• Small flat head (like the kind used in an eye glasses repair kit)
• Philips head screw driver
• Jack
• 2 Floor jack stands
• Industrial Strength Velcro (optional)
• Long Zip ties
Whats included in the Xtreme Kit:
• Installation Guide
• 2 Slim HID Ballast
• 2 HID Bulbs
• 2 Double Sided 3M Tape
• 4 Zip ties
Start by lifting and placing the car on jack stands. Remove both front wheels.

Remove the 3 screws below the front bumper

Remove the 2 push clips below the car by using the flat head to pop out the center clip and then just pull out the whole clip, these are right behind the front bumper on the driver’s side

Inside the fender lining you will be removing 7 more push clips

Once all the clips are out the part of the lining that had the 5 clips will swing onto the ground and still be hung on by a strap. Just move this piece out of the way. Now pull the driver’s side bumper out a little and pull the fender lining towards the back of the car. You can pull the lining behind the wheel hub, I just left it in front.

Now that the wheel lining is out of the way you see the inside behind the headlights and the fog lights

On this pic I wanted to point out two areas that I was thinking of placing the ballast. 1 is where I originally wanted to install the ballast but the back side of the bracket facing to the back of the car didn’t seem to have enough surface area and it would interfere with putting the inner lining back into place. The front of that bracket facing the front of the car was not a flat surface and I was worried the ballast would fall down. I selected location 2 facing the front of the car. This surface was more flat and I liked the idea that the ballast would be higher up and facing away from the wheel well.

This is showing how the HID kit is supposed to be connected.
A (Ballast) --> B (HID Bulb)
C (Ballast) --> D (HID Bulb)
D (Ballast) -> E (HID Bulb)
G --> Goes into the OEM wire harness

Next take out the halogen H11 light bulb from the low beam housing. You just unpin the clip and then twist the bulb either left of right and it will pop out.
Before you install the ballast pull the OEM harness out as far as you can and plug everything in on the driver’s side to make sure the HID bulb lights up. When I turned on my lights from inside the car the HID bulb did not light up. The instructions that came with the kit says that if the bulbs do not light up you will have to reverse the polarity of the connector on the HID bulb that connects to the OEM harness. This is where I had to use a small flat head and push the pins out and then switch the positions of the black and white wires. (Sorry I didn’t get pictures of this) The kit did come with two separate relay harnesses but I decided not to use them

Now plug everything back in and the HID bulb should light up. Now that you know the bulb works unplug everything.
Install the HID bulb first since it’s the most fragile part. You have to twist off the bulb housing. Then take off the circular separator piece. Now carefully place the bulb into the low beam socket and twist it until it is securely in place(make sure you not touch the bulb with your hand). The bottom of the HID housing is still attached so I just snapped it off with my hand.

Now attach the ballast to the location I mentioned earlier. I decided not to use the 3M tape that came with the kit. I went with industrial strength Velcro thanks to the recommendation from another ORG member. Place one type of Velcro to the back of the ballast and then the other type on the front side of the bracket behind the inner lining

....continuation from part 1
I then used 3 long zip ties to add additional security for the ballast

Now re-plug all the connections and use a long zip tie to group all the wires together so they are not hanging out loose

Now reinstall the inner lining by placing the lining in its correct position and inserting the 9 push clips and 3 screws. If your not sure how certain pieces are supposed to attach just look at how it’s put together on the passenger side. After the driver’s side is put back together do the exact same thing on the passenger side
Done

*Note my fog lights are Phillips Crystalvision Ultra halogen light bulbs

Xenon Depot 4300K Xtreme kit from kbcarstuff
I just purchased and installed the Xenon Depot 4300K Xtreme HID kit with H11 fitment from Kbcarstuff.com. The kit is completely plug and play. The kit cost about $200 but you can get 5% if you sign up for their mailing list. If you don’t mind paying a little more you can get the Xtreme kit with Phillips HID bulbs. These kits come with a 3 year warranty

I’ve done probably 8+ hours of research on the different types of HID kits as well customer feedback on certain HID kits. Initially I was planning on getting a slim ballast kit from DDM Tuning but I’ve seen from other forum members that their kits have been hit or miss lately. I’ve also heard that there kits are coming straight from China and can take 2+ weeks for shipping. I looked at many other HID kit brands and saw a lot of mixed reviews. I saw a lot of good reviews about the Xenon Depot kits from kbcarstuff.
I emailed kbcarstuff about some questions and Steve responded quickly answering my concerns and recommended the Xtreme kit . The main reason he recommend the Xtreme kit was because of the low starting draw that is required by the kit. This would allow me not to have to use a relay harness. I ordered the kit in on a Monday and received the kit on the Friday of the same week. I as I was installing the kit on Saturday I had a couple questions on the installation process so I emailed kbcarstuff and Steve responded to the email quickly and answered all my questions. I‘ve had excellent customer service with kbcarstuff.
Overall I am impressed with the HID kit. The ballast have some weight to them and you can tell that this is a higher quality kit. The kit was very easy to install and completely plug in play with the exception of changing the polarity of one of the plugs which was easy to do. One of my biggest concerns about HID kits was that the bulb pattern would scatter and blind oncoming drivers because I was putting the HID kit in Halogen housing but with this kit it didn't and there is a nice cut off.

They're okay, they look better in my installation picture then they actually are. They are whiter than the OEM fogs but if you want that HID look you will want a kit
The drivers side fog has the Phillips Crystalvision and the passenger has the OEM bulb

my 8000k's look a lot like the 4300k pictured here. does the wattage make a difference to the color. i have 35watt ballasts
Color can look different with different brands. Also, a 4300k in a halogen housing won't be as blue as a 4300k in a projector housing. For example, if you want HID fogs to match the stock HID headlights, you would need a 5000k-6000k HID foglight bulb, even though the stock HIDs are 4300k.
I have the 09 S model and i want to change my headlights to blue HID's. I do not have much knowledge on lights. I often see HID conversion kits which are expensive and then i see headlight bulbs which do not seem that expensive. With the s model can i just buy blue HID bulbs?

For those of you with the morimoto hid headlights, what are things that make them different from the ones offered by ddm or vled?? I need a new set, but need them by fri, and a guy sells hids in my apt complex. Was thinking bout buying a set from him, but don't want another dud like the ddm lights I have.

Hey everyone
I just installed Hoen Xenonmatch (low beam) and Endurance (fog light) last night. I haven't driven yet. But the headlamps seem a little "dim"...maybe I am just too used to the yellowish of the stock halogen bulbs. The fog lights are outstanding!!
I was thinking it could be because of the projector headlamps. I have read other articles for years that projector headlamps can be problematic when using different types of bulbs.
Anyone have any experience with these? I do like the way the Crystal Visions turned out. I might use those in my headlamps if I end up changing. I will have pics later tonight.
