HID/Headlight/Foglight combo thread.
I dont know that its an option for the 7th gen since even halogen lights are projector beams. But for those with older cars using standard bulbs, please, please dont buy that silverstar (or equavalent) fake Xenon headlight crap. They are for posurs who wish they had newer, nicer car but cannot afford one. All they do is blind everyone on the road whereas real HID/Xenon is a much softer light on the eyes. Sorry if you are included in this generalization, but thats the way I feel.
Thanks Guys,, that makes sense. Now I guess I have to decide if I'm going to convert to HID's. I was thinking about getting the Nissan Fog Light Kit and then determining if I was going to covert those or not,, but now I have even more choices :-)
Thanks,
Thanks,
So I just got my car on Saturday and I cant see a darn thing with these halogens! So I went out and bought a 6k 35w kit today at my local HID spot, also got the relay harness as well so I have a lifetime warranty.
I seen where people said in order to install they just turned the wheel and pulled the inner fender well down, now my question is what kind of clips are they? Are they easy to put back or will they always be kind of saggy? Also I went with the 6k kit, does anyone have the 6k kit tell me how they look because I dont want too much blue. If you have pics of the 6ks that would be great also.

Ryan, the kit you will need is a H8(H11) for both your low beams and fog lights. You will need to decide which set-up you want to pay for (Standard or Digital Slim). The 55W & 35W kits have a higher output, but I am not too familiar with these. If you need help with what color temp to go with, here is the scale from VVME's webiste. 6K is good IMO.

As for your color temp, I have 8000k HIDs on my H3 and there is a hint of blue. You should be pure white with the 6000k.
check my video out. 3k fog, 6k lowbeam

Wondered if anyone has installed the Phillips Crystal Vision Ultra H11's in the Low beams on their Max wanted to see if anyone could tell me what they thought of them/ basically a review thanks I appreciate it
I was also thinking of putting a set of these in for my low beams. The reviews on Amazon seem pretty good.
Yeah I saw those reviews but figured I'd hear it from someone who has had them in their 7th Gen Maxima I had a 2003 Impala before my Maxima and my Silverstars in that car I had them in for almost 5 years and they were still good even when I traded the car in.

Nice. How does it hold up BTW? Any problems with it cause I'm thinking of blacking out my roof with vinyl this summer temporarily until I can get it painted.
it holds up well i had my roof done but it looked like it didnt belong but if its for a short amount of time your going to have it save your money and wait to painit it but if your not getting it painted for like a year go ahead...
i used the excess from my roof for my bottom bumper only bad part is when i hit big dips out of some drive ways or complexes it scraps off and looks cheap after a while weather wise it hollds great

Yes, the kit for the S model is an H11 Kit for the low beams.
The S model does not have the switch to turn on the fogs. There is 2 routes you an go on that. Either buy Ebay OEM style Fog Lights that come with the housing, Foglights, wiring and a push button or you can plug buy an actual Nissan OEM kit (a bit more money) since the existing Fog Light wiring is there, just tied back, in this case you would need to order a Combo switch for the steering column which has the turn on for the fogs.
