WATER in my Mirror Signal Lights
#41
I may have confused the issue. The lens on the mirror is still CLEAR, nothing has changed. The LEDs when lit are still yellow, nothing has changed. I just didn't realize how whimpy the old mirror lights were with all the water in them.

i'm having the same problem on my 2014, mine have been ordered by the dealership and should be in the next couple days. I'm curious as to how it will go. But i also am having them repair the rubber molding on my roof where the sunroof slides because it is coming apart, not to mention the plastic casing on my driver side door handle falling off! Have these happened to anyone else too? WTH is wrong with Nissan lately, they are slacking bigtime!

Why? did they give you a reason? The dealership where my car was isn't where I purchased it.. Its a common thing. Maybe it was a professional courtesy since I am a service advisor as well at a Chevrolet dealer up the street from there..

this is unfortunately a common issue. I've had my 2014 sport for a year now, it had 10,000 miles on it when i bought it. i have replaced the drivers side mirror assembly twice. both for condensation issues. the 2nd time i replaced it was because the leds had actually burned out due to the issue.
I've also replaced my passenger side once.
my car is currently in the shop now getting the passenger side tail light replaced due to condensation. and sadly my drivers side tail light condensates as well.
it is sad to see these cars with such minor but common issues. I've replaced my strut mount assembly already at 20,000 miles. car is in the shop right now getting the passenger side strut replaced because all of my alignments are out of whack and have worn down my 2 front tires big time. now i have to buy 2 new tires. i can go on with the rest of the things i have already replaced under warranty on this car in less than a years time its sad to say this but i may just get rid of this car for something new. i love nissan. i had a 2004 maxima sl prior to this. had it for 7 years. had 180k miles on it and it did me so well. never gave me issues or problems. just regular maintenance.

I have a 2012 and when I bought it looks like the previous owner smacked the passenger side mirror on something due to plastic panel pushed out, I put it back together right and worked fine for months. Now I get a strange strobe effect of some of the LEDs on the side and it looks unusual from outside. It still blinks and no visible cracks in lens but LEDs now slightly dimmer than drivers side and makes effect described above. Will replacing the strip fix it or should I take it off and check for water and dry out if there is? Dont see any visible condensation.

I just noticed this again on my passenger side mirror after getting stuck in heavy rains yesterday, it has quite a bit of moisture in it. That's pretty pathetic on Nissan's part for a 2014 that's babied, garaged, and strictly hand washed. I know it's only a matter of time before this occurs on the driver side, so I am thinking of waiting a while and getting both mirrors replaced. I don't want a new one on one side, and the original on the other.
For those of you all that had this done, can you tell me all of the parts/part numbers for the items that the dealer replaced? Hopefully they can remove the stock mirror cover cap, I don't want them to paint anything on my car.

I went to the dealer today to look at my passenger mirror, and the advisor initially said a tech would have to look at it before he could order the part and it'd be a 2-3 hour wait. I said WTF is there to look at, my mirror looks like a goldfish tank with the water in it. Then the guy changed his tune and said he would order it, and paint the mirror cap to match. I said no way, I want my original mirror cap to be put on.
For those that had your mirrors replaced, did the dealer use your old mirror cap or put a new one on? I don't want them to put on a new cap because the paint quality will be crap and not match, body shops suck and are incompetent people. How do the mirror caps pop off? I'll just remove it myself prior to taking it to the dealer to ensure that they don't screw it up, this dealer makes me uneasy about them touching my car.
