@eesjunin one question for you, you said you will be doing piping from them so will they actually be functional?

It will be similar to GTR. So i will have to take a look how they do it.

Last edited by eesjunin; 06-25-2012 at 07:49 AM. Reason: So just checked out the GTR underhood pics...and doesnt look like they are functional on GTR...

This isnt for those with weak knees :)

So it has been done.
All and all was pretty easy.
3.5 hours total.
I am yet to figure out what to do with the rivets since i tried paint them before installing and when riveting them in they peel. so i installed them as is. I am too fond of the rivet sticking out like a sore thumb...i mean its not bad...i am thinking find CF "pasties" so they blend it very well, or last resort - paint them ...will see
here is the progress
enjoy !

What did you use to cut this? Wouldn't it have been easier to remove the hood all together and cut it without the hood on the car? I know I wouldn't want all the aluminum shards falling into my engine bay

What i did is actually was taped a big trash bag under the hood, nothing fell through. I wouldnt want to remove the hood and then deal with aligning it...that would be +2 hours min
I used cut off wheels to cut through and grinding attachments to contour and get it perfectly to line up

I cut the plastic LP holder just so it fits in the air duct. Bent Lp to fit on it and used zip ties to secure it to the middle bar in the that air duct/intake.

Curious to see how this will look. Make sure I get some pictures!! The Quad definitely does look nice, I have seen it on a few other Maximas. You have to cut some of the plastic, do you? I always thought you did because it wouldn't fit. I never really researched it though.

Hmm, havent seen a Max here with quads yet...except for the Megan exhaust, but those fit right into the round opening.
Mine are much wider and to look right, i will have to cut into the bumper...not a big deal

the only picture I have seen with quads done was the Photoshop one that Essjun was showing us what it would look like. I like this but GReedy just threw up an exhaust on their website hoping it isnt a mistake because if they are really making an exhaust I'm going for them love their exhausts.

I'm on Greddy's website right now and the only exhaust I found was for the 6th gen.

Would love to have the link to the 7th gen exhaust

SO the tips got put on.
I am pretty happy with them, the only thing that i will need to play around/change is the opening. Reason being that its will need to be a bit closed up from the top. Otherwise they look great !
I will need to take better pics from the back, taking pics against the sun didnt really work. so here are some side and top views.

hmm, not really feeling it. My initial impressions is that you were going to cut the bumper a fair bit to get the tips hidden up in the gap. The tips don't fit the shape right now at all, and frankly looks a little goofy in its current state, imo.

I love the innovation you've done, the execution seems a little off to me atm though
