^ so the way it went was that i went to the shop for the to chop the old tips...the kid had time to he put on the lift, chopped both off...and then we were like lets look how it will look...the middle of the tips were perfectly lining up with the bottom bumper curvature...and standing a bit below the top gap didnt look all that big, and frankly it isnt all that big, merely 2 fingers max!
So then i realized that the tips were slighly smaller than i originally envisioned them to be, when i did the photoshop.
I asked the guy to put them on, cause i got an idea to make an incert similar to what new WRX have which is like a contour molding that wraps around the pipes and comes out about an 1" , looks like a mini diffuser...sort off...so thats why i left it for now.
Looking at the tips this morning, i actually like it, looks pretty neat if you ask me.

I like it a lot...I think if you painted the bottom of the bumper black you wouldnt see the opening that much...Try plasti-diping it see if you like it..

Black out the bumper area,

Change the wheel color to white
Thoughts?

I've had a 94 GT convertable, white...with white rims before...never had a problem with keeping them clean. Just get the cermaic brake pads if the dirt gets to you, thats the only "dirt" that really "sticks"...

I've always loved gunmetal colored wheels on white car, try that out. Maybe a little darker than the "black chrome" color wheels that come on the 11 SV Sport.

I feel like you should keep your wheels all the same color the white center cap would be cool if it had the logo in white but the whole center cap I'm not a fan of

I like the grill and front bumper painted like that but I think white rims is too much white. I've always wanted a white car on black (somewhere between flat and glossy) with a red lip rims so thatd be my vote

soo been playign around with plasti dip..and the white for my grill is ust way too white nad not matching the car color...so we ar onto plan B...grill plasti dipped black and i am putting on the winter frost 2 level coat on the center grill line, and the badge... if this comes out mint then off to that chrome back piece...
but for now riding grill less...yup a bit trashy, but i tell you makes people turn head with either "wow" or "WTF" - cant read their lips/thoughts yet

So several things done over the last week+weekend:
1. the Lp lights changed to light blue LEDs
2. The grill plasti dipped black and the center line/nissan badge color matched to Winter Frost
3. the rear chrome trunk piece car color matched.
4. the lip has been repainted ( but will be redone again, since i want to put more than 3 coats of clear coat to entire bumper/lip...this will be done when i am going to paint the "mouth" black)

Next?
1. white rims
2. chrome window trim to be plasti dipped black
3. new bumper and mouth
4. doing a search on CF splitter...found one...need some measurements before buying it

Enjoy

How long did it take the shop to paint the rear chrome trim? You should paint the door handles next. BTW I love the look of your Maxi.. Looks sporty... Not a big fan of the grill scheme but it's all bout personal preference...

Thank you!
I actually painted it myself, bought the 2 stage paint and went for it. I think it took me 2 hours for 2 layers of primer, 2 layers of mid coat, 3 layers of base coat and 3 layers of clear coat... Dry overnight!
Yes you are right the handles are on the list as well! Just need to figure out whether to remove or to do it right on the car

Damn you did that yourself? That's pretty good man... I'm still on the edge to paint mine as well but I'm kind of scared that the paint might chip.

the rear valance/door handles you probably can worry less about chipping since they're not getting hit with rocks all the time like the front grill (which if you just paint, will chip up cause of rocks)

How difficult was the removal of the chrome trim piece? I am thinking about using plasti dip on mine. I tried to do it without removing the piece in my old altima, but it came out with bad edges. If i can remove this piece it should be pretty easy to do.
