Saw smashed 7th gen
I don't have pics, because I saw it on TV. But the lead story on the news in Atlanta day before yesterday was a major heist at an AT&T cellphone store, where lots of phones and cash were taken. The headlines were that the ensuing chase on I-20 crossed two counties at speeds OVER 130 MPH. The TV helicopters had trouble keeping up.
The chase was ended by a pit maneuver by the GA Patrol. The dash cam of a police car involved showed a spinning of cars and a huge cloud of dust and debris. On TV, they showed the flotilla of police cars surrounding the scene, with the getaway car, a Tuscan Sun (red) 7th gen Maxima, smashed into the guardrail.
The Maxima looked to be unmodified (OEM wheels, etc, was probably stolen), and we know it had no trouble cruising at over 130 MPH. Yes, the three perps were all arrested. All three were larger than the policemen putting on the cuffs.
If I were on their jury, I would sentence them to 10 years for armed robbery and 30 years for the dessecration of a beautiful Maxima.

I tracked down the in-dash video for this crash. This car is pretty quick and took the crash really well. Check it out: http://www.cbsatlanta.com/story/2442...gh-speed-chase
I would have liked to see them flip and be carried away in bags. Would save the taxpayers a boatload of money and would be justice for riskng so many lives over the course of a 13 mile chase at 130mph speeds on a congested interstate (I-20). I'm sure the K-9 had some fun with the 3rd subject before the handler called him off though.
At least the owner of the Max doesn't have to worry about his driver's seat rocking or his roof making popping noises anymore, but hopefully insurance will do right by it.
